I missed Overboard so much!!! Glad this sponcon was able to give it some life again. Injecting the classic Polygon Video Team brand of improvisational, be-costumed RP-ass whimsy into something this crunchy and mechanics-laden was definitely the best chance of fighting the uphill battle to keep it engaging to folks who were coming in blind. Fingers crossed that next time y'all can take another turn at the sillier and more accessible side of things! (though I'm sure there's an audience for this style of game too lol) and great to see Sungwon in the mix again as well :)

I think SungWon is possibly the ONLY person they could have invited to do this video and have it feel like, well...like a ProZD skit in a fun way and not a ProZD skit in a bad way. Like, oh yeah game, so step 1 is start? Does that need to be a distinct step? Who wrote these steps??? (But also good job explaining the rules Clayton, I almost kind of understood!) ETA: Also the joy with which XTina says "You have activated my BURST CARD!" is very, very good.

Props to Clayton for the edit! I really liked the background music choices that added flair overall and to each match characters specifically. I really enjoyed the second last piece in the match with Simone (starts around 1:06:09).

I believe there was a misplay in regards to "armor" vs "curse". Curse is a non-targeted ability (does not "select") so it would still work on the spirit with armor against purple cards.

I remember being an absolute fan of the anime of this game since i was a kid, especially with Shounen gekiha dan and Brave. Kinda complicated to play but i appreciate that its being well structured

Overall an awesome video! I know it's an early gameplay but there are still some missplay worth mentioning based on my understanding of the Japanese BS: 23:15 cores from destroyed spirits should be moved to reserve instead of the trash 55:09 Type-90 Tankmobile cannot be targeted by deadly balance because of purple armor so only buster fenrircannon can be destroyed. 58:23 we normally won't declare absolute ice shield here when there are no further attackers from your opponents. Unlike in BS, brave system is non-existent yet, so most spirits(if not all) can only do a single damage at a time. Activating absolute ice shield at a later stage can very likely last you for an extra turn. And it’s really unfortunate for players in HK where we don’t get the chance to play the western release of the game and it’s price tournament. Also, card design of BS looks visually better and arguably more signature for me than that of BSS, I don't like the decision to make it look similar to MTG. Nonetheless, hope you guys enjoy the fun from the game!

I've got to level with you Polygon... I'm 3 minutes into this rules explanation and the fact that it doesn't contain any cows or mooing but DOES contain ProZD is very confusing to me...

At 55:08 when Deadly Balance is played and SungWon selected his Type 90 Tankmobile that has Purple Armor, shouldn't the Tank have survived since it cant be selected as the target of Purple Magic? Or at the very least he had to select the other card to be destroyed or something?

Rule check: I think you cannot target any Spirits during the Attack Step, just simply announce the attack and the opponent choose a refreshed Spirits to block. (Maybe wrong since I'm from Battle Spirits)

Not to be a total rules lawyer but shouldn't the tank have been destroyed by Curse? Armor only prevents it from being targeted, not affected, so leaving it on the field was a huge mistake that altered the course of the game.
