Let's Play Crusader Kings 3 III Legends of the Dead | Persia Kesranid Dynasty CK3 Gameplay Episode 3

Join me as we play the Crusader Kings III expansion, Legends of the Dead! We'll be playing as one of the last Persian characters who is still independent in the 1066 start date, Shirvanshah Fariburz Salarzade of House Kesranid. Our goal will be the defeat of the Seljuk Turks and the reestablishment of the Persian Empire. We'll be using the many new features and mechanics added in the Legacy of Persia DLC for the first time as well.
I discuss my reasoning and strategy as I play, thus this walkthrough could serve as a tutorial or guide.

Will you restore the Persian Empire at it's greatest extend? Or will you make your own empire?

We're only seeking to ensure our empire contains the majority of Persia proper. I'm sure we'll conquer many territories along the way, but I doubt our empire will be as large as greatest of the Persian Empires (as there were several).

Yep I missed that, but we couldn't declare war anyways due to reasons I highlight in the beginning of the next episode.

Is Georgia still allied with Byzantium? The allies' strength looks really low. 57:30

Yeah I like it too, I don't see why every house can't have it regardless of if they're a clan or not. And I believe I mention next episode that the Byzantines are no longer allied with Georgia, however there are other factors that stop us from declaring war.

@41:55 Did you check to see if you could do the funeral activity when your Uncle died? It was odd early when YOUR wife died but then her body just up and ran away with you noticing. At the time I just role played it like maybe the funeral already happened because Muslims should bury their dead within a day of the death...?

I think another character did the funeral, which seems to happen often for spouses since they have their family somewhere. We can do it for uncle though, I do this next episode :)

Could you perhaps give some land to vassals that aren’t of your lineage?

Well we've given more land to non-dynasty members than family so far. But as a clan, especially in the harmonious route, we're very much encouraged to keep titles in the family.

agreed all the same events are annoying . it wouldnt be to hard to make x2 as any and make more related to your skill/traits/age

Yeah I feel this way about Paradox games in general, they need far more triggers limiting them, so that they feel more appropriate for the given situation and so that you don't see the same ones over and over again.

@53:13 Did you see when you accepted to promote the other guys legend the game made you pay to promote it. Basically costing you 1gp / round, I'm not sure how long that lasts but if it takes longer than 225 rounds you'll be losing gold from the deal. Not sure if that a bug because I don't play the game but you should go back and look if you didn't notice.

I didn't notice it at the time, but yeah seems it costs us 1.3 gold per month. Seems it took us 6 months to do it, so would only be 7.8 gold total, thus it was definitely worth it. And that's not considering the increased stewardship skill (which offset some of that money) and the extra renown.
