something i will add about that soviet thing, one rifle per two people was mostly just during ww1, by ww2 the industrial base of the soviet union was large enough that it could supply millions of rifles with ease, though there were localized shortages of arms and ammo, just as there were in all other armies.

I feel like Adam was a little unfair to point out they would have heard his second move. It's not even clear they were even aware that a special card could do that... a good gamer with knowledge of that card existing would immediately say "unless that card he played was the silent one"... and they are good players.
@Clumbob
@Clumbob Жыл бұрын
@@Spanner1971B Yeah, that felt really cheap to me. He reminded the players of a rule they forgot (because it helped him if they knew) but didn't remind them of the caveat that meant that information wasn't 100% accurate (because it would have hurt him if they knew). That's the kind of move that's totally valid if it's a game everyone knows well enough to know all the rules, but feels like an abuse of game knowledge if you're pulling it on newer players who don't actually know the rules. At that point you aren't tricking them, you're just lying to them.
@LifeUntilLove
@LifeUntilLove Жыл бұрын
@@Clumbob But pointing out you could have used a card is announcing that you used a card to make the move. The whole point of having the cards be unknown is to give the sniper some wiggle room. Adam stated he used the card at the time and if they forgot that, it is on them. If Adam had drawn additional attention to it, they would have figured it out immediately
@Clumbob
@Clumbob Жыл бұрын
@@LifeUntilLove Right, which is why he should have just said nothing. He "corrected" their "mistake" by partially explaining the rules in order to convince them he mechanically couldn't be in one of the spots they wanted to investigate. Reminding new players of exclusively the rules that benefit you is a pretty underhanded tactic.

@@atesemireltutar6661 well, kind of, kind of not I would say. Defenestration in the Czech Republic was perceived like angry crowd of peasants (for example the Hussites in the first case) who threw some government workers out of the window. And thought Jan Masaryk could be defined as that because he was a minister, his death was, and still is a mystery. It happen in the night, no angry crowd and I think that the authorities presented as a suicid3. But it's believed that the Soviet who recently occupied Prague and the country were responsible for that. And frankly, after seeing that there are people "randomly" falling out of windows in the modern day Russia for dissagreeing with the current politics there, I would be surprised if they were using this method before as well.
@ThaGr1m

Also there isn't a single recorded time where the russians sent someone without a gun during ww2, in fact because of how cheap there main rifle was to produce they had plenty to spare, this myth came much later and was popularised by movies. Same thing for the human wave tactics, that one is a myth that german commanders invented post ww2 to make themselves look beter so they'd be recruited rather than executed. Doesn't mean the russian army wasn't poorly equiped and trained, just that they weren't unarmed idiots running at an mg

I question Sully's historical knowledge or at the least his firearm knowledge, though to be fair he is British. They've come over to the US in large numbers for low prices and they tend to work fairly well, though not accurate by modern standards they do in fact go bang. I have one that was made in Izhevsk in 1942 with the serial number prefix Л, it would not be surprising if my rifle was at Stalingrad at some point, since the date and serial number would imply it was made a relatively short time before and that was the deadliest battle of WWII. Though it is true that not enough of these rifles were present at the beginning of the war with a non-aggression pact between Germany and the USSR (and warning signs of Germany's upcoming violation of the pact reportedly ignored), but now to this day it is estimated that it is the second or third most produced rifle ever (behind the Kalashnikov family and by some estimates the Gewer 98).

my thoughts exactly. They rarely to never had less guns than they had men on any front and men sent into battle carried at least a bolt-action rifle. The scene from "enemy at the gates" is a heady mix of misinterpreted first-hand accounts about the lack of cohesion and tactical acumen during the years 1941-1942. As for their weapons being so horrifically unreliable, no. Their weapons were very reliable with a few excaptions. Those being the PPSH drum magazines having feeding issues, but those were rarely carried. The ammo was the main issue, due to the speed at which ammo needed to be pumped out there was the issue of large ammounts of under pressurized cartridges causing cycling issues in direct blowback weapons, like the PPSH and TT-30 both chambered in 7.62x25 Tokarev. This was not an issue for the SVT-38 or the SVT-40 as they were notoriously overgassed, and obviously not a problem for a bolt-action.

A surprisingly good adaptation. Though I feel like the sniper really should exfil (via any of the exits) during a third round. Also, Blair consistently pronouncing "move" as "meww-v" drives me up the wall.

It's a bit too easy being the Sniper imo, so I added needing to exfiltrate after completing the second objective. The wat I do it is make a random entrance, (not the one you're in) the exfil point. It also adds a bit more time to the game 😅

Costa Rica fact. Juan Santamaria is one of their greatest heroes. He helped defeat an army sent by the Southern Confederacy of America that was intended to enslave much of Central America to provide resources for the Confederacy in the (inevitable) American Civil War. He was a drummer boy in the Costa Rican peasant militia, and died setting fire to a Confederate stronghold allowing Costa Rica to win the battle and the war.

Fun Episode as always. I think it's a bit of an unfortunate choice of the game creator that the Nazis use Black-Red-Yellow as that represents the current german flag. A more sensible choice would have been using the red-black-white of the nazi flag and switch up neutral zones with the current yellow zones. Might just be a minor nitpick as a german person, though personally I'm not offended at all. Not sure if such minute detail will stop the game from being released over here though.
