Peggy Holds a degree in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising from Brigham Young University. As a mother to four sons, Peggy spends her time divided between teaching and creating new patterns for Silhouette Patterns, a line of contemporary patterns available to the home sewer. During her career she has taught college courses in pattern drafting and design. She professionally drafts patterns for individuals and manufacturers all across the country ranging from golf apparel to black tie performances. In addition to apparel designs, Peggy has designed the patterns of the costumes worn by the Mens Olympic Figure Skating Gold Medalist, Elvis Stojko.

This is JMHO, but I think I would like it better with self binding around the V-neck. I thought you had a white necklace on until I blew it up. Love the video though. Wonderful demo!

I think there is an easier method. I fold my FABRiC on the bias, then lay out my pattern on the fabric fold as usual. Advantages: faster, easier, and you can see how the design is going to look through the pattern. Of course, this works best if both your right and left side are identical mirror images. If your top is asymmetrical, it will still work, but may have a different look.

This is a great tutorial on chevron stripes. I have tried it before without perfect results. Your tip about lining up the stripe through the diagonal points of the square on the guide is exactly the tip I needed to get a perfect chevron. Thank you so much! Quick question...Do you have suggestions on how to decide when to see a straight stitch and when to serge?

I love this! Which of your patterns did you use for the dress and the top? Turned out lovely! I hate RTW stripes. They Never match.

I don't know if it seems odd or over modest, but I do not like any patterns or seam color blocks that are placed pointing toward me private parts. I like the shirt on the right because I have curvy hips. I'm tall enough not to worry about my height being perceived as short.

Thank you for this video! I want to make the sleeve. It looks like you hemmed the top of the sleeve and sewed the side seams. You placed the sleeve in like a set in sleeve. Did you serge around the entire arm hole opening when you set the sleeve in and then fold the exposed arm hole area in the 3/8" and stitch in place? I tried to watch how you did it in the video but I could not get all the details clearly. The top you made looks marvelous!

I serged around the whole armhole and then when the sleeve came in, I just included that in the serging and then folded under the seam allowance of the un sergerd part and top stitched that part...hope that helps.

I love your tutorials and have learnt so much but the sound on this one is really poor. My device is on high and I can hardly hear. I've missed so much and I was so particularly interested in this chevron top.

Enjoyed the webcast, your top looks like the 4th of July! I know you say you try to keep a limit like 30 pieces in your wardrobe closet for each season. How do you do that when you are constantly making new items? Do you purge weekly?

Thank you for this video. I was wondering how your long French dart would show up. I must admit I had to look closely. You did great! The fit is very good tho, I'm just still afraid to cut into the sides. But you sold me on the idea, I'll try.
