What clues did we miss?

Yes "They pronounced him" means DEAD. There is zero ambiguity about what Dickie means. There is close to 100% certainty he is lying. If Ben had been pronounced dead at the scene the hospital would not have pumped his stomach (and Paramedics would have his face covered, not be giving him oxygen). The appropriate question to be asking is why Dickie is lying, and to whom.

loretta's opening monologue is about a parental figure killing to protect a child. who is the parent? who is the child?

I get weird vibes from Cliff from the first time I saw him. But i also believe there are 2 suspects, one who poisoned and one who pushed. Let's see

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the actors on the show know if they are or aren't the murderer when filming begins? Some productions don't tell an actor they are the "bad guy" until they are close to filming the reveal.

Loretta could be the poisoner. Maybe she didn’t intend to kill Ben. Maybe she wanted to damage his vocal cords. Remember, Ollie said to Ben that Ben’s voice is his everything when it comes to acting.

Some theories: - Someone put poisoned cookies in Ben's dressing room. He said the doctors told him that it was 'probably something he ate' and it was made clear in the read through scene that he can't resist them. He also only ate 'a corner' so it's also possible that his brother, who is always with him as his assistant, stepped in and took the cookies away before Ben got more than a corner which is why he didn't take enough to die. This person may also have stolen mangos from Ben so that his only available snack would be the cookies. - It's also possible that his brother was behind Ben's death at the lift shaft. He left the party at the same time as Ben to go upstairs and has a tendency to blame his brother for things. Rather than a murder, this could be a manslaughter self-defence or accident situation. Ben could've argued with his brother in front of the open elevator shaft and fallen in a struggle. In all the examples, no one actively pushes Ben, he fights with someone and falls. - It's also possible that the intention at the show was never to kill Ben but to kill opening night by just taking Ben out. This could've been any of the cast like Loretta who can't have a romance with Oliver while they're working, or his understudy who was told he wouldn't get a chance on stage, or one of his costars who hoped that they might get the spotlight. Ben may also think that Loretta is trying to sleep her way to the top because he calls her a snake. - Loretta says anyone would kill to protect a child, but the child doesn't need to be a literal child. They could be a child figure so perhaps someone did it to protect Mabel. - Ben made it clear that he was supporting his 'mother and his brother'. We know where his brother is, so where's his mother? Is Loretta or another character secretly Ben's mother? Maybe she left when he was a kid and that's why he was immediately hostile towards Loretta in the read through. - It could similarly be that the entire 'first murder' was a plot by Ben and his brother. No one stays dead for an hour and comes back, and his brother only says 'he was pronounced' and not 'he was pronounced dead'. - Who was Mabel covertly texting at the after party? Did she tweet out that Ben was alive, or was she in contact with another character and telling them that he arrived at the party? If that's the case, is that the person who intercepted Ben on the way back to his apartment and then murdered him? - Was the 'her' that Charles told Ben to leave alone Mabel? Charles harmed a young Ben by getting him fired, Ben might think that revenge is going after Mabel somehow to see what happens when a kid gets harmed in the industry.

These are some good theories so far!I think there are 2 killers; maybe Jonathan the understudy poisoned Ben to make him SICK but not kill him? I think like Chloe in season 1, Ben argued or scuffled with someone and accidentally fell down the elevator shaft. While he's a jerk, Ben may be right about Loretta: I don't think the girl/woman in the opening is Loretta, but someone she cheated out of the audition. I think she is like Jan but not quite a killer. I want to think it could be Ben's brother, but the mousy assistant killer has already been done!

Die twice; Tim was poisoned and then shot, Bunny was stabbed with a knife multiple times and then stabbed with a knitting needle, and Ben was poisoned and then thrown down an elevator shaft. When you are killed twice there is no coming back.

4:29 - first episode of the solving podcast and in a throw away joke you figured out the murder weapon

Seeing the penthouse elevator again made me realize... the scene they keep showing of Ben falling through the yellow tape down the elevator shaft... that's not from the Penthouse level. It's from Oliver's floor 10 apartment. Who else lives on floor 10? Was the killer in Oliver's apartment when Ben was pushed? I've also got a wild fan theory that there are triplets... Ben, Glen, and Roy. Ben killed Glen and Roy and is plotting a come back of sorts. Not sure how or why. But I do think there are triplets here.

I wonder is there any chance that Charles or Oliver pushed Ben? "To protect a child in their charge", "for the sake and safety of any child in their care" (Mabel or Lucy) Also I find it weird that Ollie said to Ben "you are back AND SO SOFT" when he holds Ben's face after Ben came back from the dead. Ben's skin is soft and silky or is he wearing a realistic face mask?... Is someone disguised as Ben?

for some reason, i feel like the mannequin KT was taking out might have a part in Ben's murder. Maybe someone made an extremely realistic version of him and added the blood and all that. And if you look at the cover of episode 2, the mannequin looks quite real, plus its limbs move like a human from afar. idk maybe its a stretch

I watched trailer again. There is a scene where Oliver is supposedly staying overnight at Loretta's wearing pajamas. He opened a diary or a journal with glued magazine clippings: Ben and his brother on red carpet + back of the head of a woman with a hairstyle very similar to Loretta's. Oliver has a very disturbed shocked alarmed look on his face and Loretta's voice in the background says "what you share and what you HIDE". Loretta definitely hides something big. She doesn't have a manager. She wanted to get into a play because Ben was already confirmed as lead!

My aunt has guessed the killer correctly both times so far, and instantly too. Her guess is Ben's assistant/ brother with the cookie poisoning, and she thinks he also kills him again. I think it's 2 people. First, I'm not entirely convinced the first death wasn't a publicity stunt for his biofilm. Even at the end of last season, I thought there was a chance it was part of the production, but maybe just the wrong production. For his fall, I can almost see it being where he falls and grabs the hanky and he's teetering and the other person decides to just let go of the other end. I feel like it could be similar to Theo and Zoe where it gets so confusing the person isn't really sure of their actions. I can totally see this being Meryl Streep. I have a long shot guess and maybe I'll be right about this at some point but I just can't shake season 1 why Jan wanted to look into Howard. I think he might be somehow influencing other people, but maybe unconsciously through just being a gossip. But I love Howard and I don't want it to be him, but I suspect he's hiding something sketchy and I wanna know what it is.

One of my predictions is that Ben wasn’t killed by the same murderer the second time he died. Also Loretta seems to be obviously significant to the point she might be a red herring, although it is still possible

There was a clue in the Death Rattle poster and the plot... a baby is the only witness to the murder...or is the baby a killer? At the end of Season 2, that exchange between Charles and Ben was so heated... Charles only has 3 women in his life... Mabel, Joy, and Lucy. He asks Joy if she took Lucy home after the night of the attempted murder.... all these clues lead me to go with a Joy/Lucy plot! Ben is Lucy's father or her stepfather we heard about in Season 2. Joy is the makeup artist that tried to poison Ben with the led makeup and Lucy is trying to finish what Joy started by either pushing or letting Ben fall to his death thereby being a witness to the murder or the actual murderer. I still haven't put all the pieces together yet but... my official first submission to "whodunnit" is Lucy working with Joy! Charles just is so unlucky with women... I love this show so much, I host my own "Who Dunnit Summit" with some work colleagues. I made a powerpoint and everything. I'm looking forward to this season so much!

The “her” Charles refers to theory being Jan kinda makes sense. She did mention that he wouldn’t let her do anything first it had to be him. I didn’t see Tim Kono being that way (then again I’m not sure). Ben definitely seems like a “me first” person. But we later on learn why in episode 2. On a side note, there is a mini episode show called 1 killer question and “Howard” hosts it. He had KT on the show and she mentioned “well the first time I killed..never mind!” Not sure if there’s clues in that mini show or not but, it’s a cute show to watch if you want to see more of the show and theories the cast members come up with. Super excited for this season. Just upset that this is Steve Martin’s last acting role 😢

Great to see the gang back together again . Just watched episode 2 , I’ve seen Cobro 1 and 2 but 3 hasn’t made it to Australia yet . Has it been held up by the strike or has it been held back for the Christmas season ? 😅

Could girl cop be Loretta's daughter? What happened to girl cop's career? Did Ben ruin her career? Or is she a one hit wonder hence envious of Ben's success? Mabel was 7 when her dad died. That means she was 7 or 8 when she has been watching girl cop. Ben was 31 in girl cop. Mabel now is 29, right? That means Ben is 31 + 21/22 = 52/53 years old. Girl cop is probably 8-12 years younger than Ben (40-44 years old). Leading ladies tend to be much younger than male costars. Loretta is old enough to be girl cop's mother.

I have a thought. Who is responsible for breaking and/or fixing the elevator? or who had access to the elevator? Ehhh? Ehhhhh?

Remember Ben said the hospital told him not to leave. I'm thinking he died from whatever killed him in the first place and he should have stayed in the hospital.

So, I ran this theory by my wife: What if the twist this season is that there is no killer? What if Ben genuinely did get a horrific food poisoning before showtime, and then he just fell down an elevator shaft like an absolute idiot? Technically, we haven't really gotten any established proof that his death was a murder. Sure, he has a handkerchief, but he could have gotten one for himself at the same time he got one for everyone else. But other than that? Dickey, because he had access to both Ben's food (poisoning) and the Amy Schumer apartment (falling). Finally...lets be honest here, it's Loretta. Right. Like you're going to have Meryl Streep on your murder show and not make her the murderer.

My eyes r on KT,Howard,or Jonathan. Taking Ben out for Jonathan makes sense. KT just seems suspicious I don’t think Ben was poisoned Mabel said if he was he would have foaming at the mouth which he wasn’t doing. I do think it was something he ate/drank that paralyzed & neutralized him

My brother thinks cameraman Tolbert is responsible for Ben’s death the second time but not the first. I still think it’s one of the main characters… Oliver, I’m watching you….

I think the killer is going to be someone who is considered a friend or a loved one by Oliver. It's revealed his health is vulnerable and weak. The identity of the killer will be either a fatal wound fatal blow for Ollie or near death experience (just like Ben). My suspects are Loretta, Howard (Ollie offered him a job), Mabel (not likely though) and Teddy Dimas. Teddy promised Ollie that he will fuck him really hard in a way he won't see coming. It turned out Ollie's son is actually Teddy's biological son. It seems Teddy and Ollie made up, made amends... But did they? They had a drink, yes. But did Teddy really let go of the grudge?

It's just an initial hunch. I wonder if the reason for someone killing Ben is the same reason Ben has animosity towards Charles? Was Ben killed because he fired someone when they were persuing an acting career at a young age? Maybe the theme this year is struggling young actors. Maybe Ben screwed someone over during his run on Girl/Cop.

For some reason as soon as Dickie was introduced I’ve felt he is the killer.

Could Amy Schumer be the killer? What if she forgot something in her apartment and came back? When we are showed ways Ben could have grabbed the handkerchief it showed a woman in a suit. Reminds me of Amy. She was wearing a suit the last season
