The reveal that Alpha Flight was really helping mutants had me thinking of the original X-Factor, where the team publicly "hunted" mutants but secretly acted like X-Men.

I was worried Alpha Flight was at each others throats. Didn’t feel like Alpha Flight. They’re usually quite a tight group & mutant friendly…. So glad they are all on the same side 🍁

If I remember correctly the Fang was originally meant to be a Timberwolf costume that was carried over to Marvel. Kind of like Azrael

I was never under the impression that Jimmy was on board with Orchis. I always thought he was a spy working for the mutants. I wasn't far off. Fun fact Jimmy Hudson aka Guardian is Wolverines blood cousin.

Something that occurred to me is that they built up Sabretooth, he met a group of alternate reality versions of himself, and Sabretooth had big plans to murder The Quiet Council so imagine Sabretooth getting to Krakoa only to find it completely empty I can just imagine Sabretooth being like "I went through all of that mental trauma.... and I can't murder these lying bastards" 🤣🤣🤣🤣. People forget not only is Sabretooth still out there but so is the rest of that Exiles team because NOBODY has seen them since the end of that miniseries, it might be interesting to see Sabretooth be apart of this Alpha Flight team even it's only for a short arc

I'm glad to see a new Alpha Flight series and can't wait to see were this goes. I'm hoping to see Cannonball comeback cause guy is immortal, and Dazzler has this self resurrection thing and could comeback too. I don't think they'll pop up in Alpha Flight, but it would be cool nonetheless.

Ppl can be related to mutants and not have powers. Lifeguard's brother Slipstream didn't have powers until Sage activated his latent x-gene.

There are a lot of similarities - they're both mystical creatures with shapeshifting as their main talent - but in my experience, Meggan is way more powerful, but also usually way more flighty. Girl once fought Jamie Braddock to a standstill by copying the forms and powers of the Outback X-Men (with some telepathic coaching from Rachel).

@@ingonyama70 yes, Meggan was a very annoying character, which let me know right away the she def wasn’t Smowbird. Glad that they’ve improved her as a character during this whole Avalon/Otherworld storyline, well she is a mother after all.

Of course they're gonna bring Langowski back! Him competing for Aurora's love and affections against Daken will make for some excellent stories. It used to be a blood fued between Northstar and Sasquatch. Northstar did not want Sasquatch seeing his sister. Bringing Wildchild into the fold will make for some good reading also. Daken still wants payback for Wildchild being his handler and beating him with a gasoline steel cable on the behalf of Romulus.

I collected Alpha Flight from issue #1, there was a time they were popular in the 1980s because of the way they were introduced and were a major reveal into Wolverine's past, which at the time was mysterious and unknown. Having them show up out of nowhere to apprehend Wolverine for desertion got people interested, unfortunately without a giant "X" in the title most people didn't realize it was an X-Men spinoff series of the team Wolverine was leader of when he appeared in Hulk.

so to speak to what blerd was saying, alpha flight is everyones least favorite x book if you can call it that (sorry canadians) but without alpha flight we might not have jim lee on x books, his first covers and art are alpha flight vol 1 like 51-64. so alpha flight might actually be one of the most important x books.

Has it ever been addressed the REAL reason why Wolverine left Alpha Flight! I strongly believe it was Professor Xavier using his telepathy to sway Logan to the X-Men which would be on brand for Charles

I'm pretty sure a telepathic conversation was had, but mind control wasn't involved (shocking, I know). Charles just made the case that he needed Wolverine more than Alpha Flight did, because most of the ANAD team were neophytes and he needed someone with experience besides Banshee. He might also have offered his brand of mental health care for Logan's many psychological issues, I don't remember. But no, Xavier didn't coerce Logan.

To accept the premise that the St. Ives version of NEMESIS is dead and gone because DEADLY ERNEST was killed in AF # 31 and she no longer had any reason to exist anymore, one has to ignore that NEMESIS actually killed DEADLY ERNEST in ALPHA FLIGHT # 8...and didn't shrivel up and die.

Yeah Alpha Flight always had a shaky run back in the day. For every good issue there would be like 2 issues behind it that left you confused 😐 character wise.

I used to collect alpha flight. I have a feeling Bochs Jr is the original whos still dead dead but his body was taken over by scramble, box ii's brother. There shouldn't be any reason jr doesn't have legs if his dad lost his in the military. Box didnt have any kids with Aurora. That's a big red flag for me. Scramble gave him a younger body and new legs but the legs always decomposed, just like jrs looks like his do. With scrambles powers Omega could have survived even though we saw them die. I know what whoever is actually reading this isthinking and when they merged so did their intellects. Lionel Jeffries can definitely build a box robot if he wanted to. Hes also a mutant, and could have been resurrected krakoan style and technically due to his powers its very possible that since their dna was fully combined when he died the result was being resurrected the same way he died in what is essentially boxs body with scrambles mind in the drivers seat

One member of Alpha Flight we won’t be seeing is Madison Jeffries. He was unceremoniously killed in the Sabertooth series by Orchris. I can see why they took him off the board now, because he would have just taken the Box Sentinels over. Not unlike what he had to do to Roger Bochs Sr when he went insane in the original series of Alpha Flight.

I always liked Alpha Flight (especially Sasquatch, Snowbird and Puck of the OG team) and followed them since the '80s but never considered them part of the X-books. Glad they showed that bait and switch, but I doubt Box Jr. is aligned with the team. He may present as not there to let government go too far, but considering this book is gonna need a major bad guy, I feel he's going to turn out worse than ever. I hope this book reveals that Mac was playing Orchis from the get go too, maybe as a favor to Logan to get Orchis intel from the inside. Hated to see him side with them in any capacity since it's hard to imagine he couldn't tell they weren’t even remotely filled with murderous intent.

Since when are Alpha Flight anti-mutant when they're mutants themselves (Northstar, Aurora, Dayken, Wild child Flashback etc.) Btw, I don't see how Frenzy did when her skin is harder than Luke Cage's and she's stronger than him as well

Cannonball and Dazzler are functionally immortal as well (he's an External and she can resurrect herself). I'm pretty sure all three of them will be back. Still sad about Prodigy & Jubilation, though. Their comebacks will be a lot more difficult.

@@ingonyama70 Being born with super powers doesn't mean the person has an x-gene. Like Spider-Woman's infant son for example who inherited her powers but has no x-gene and there's Hazmat who was born with her radiation powers but wasn't a mutant by mutantkind's standards.

It's not really fair to say that Alpha Flight was your least favorite at those times. At the point in time you speak of there were tons of titles to choose from and Alpha Flight was nearing its end in its original run. When I first picked them up they had just debuted and it was like must see TV but in comic book form. A super team from Canada that had direct ties to the most badass X-man to ever grace the mansion!? Man we were lined up at our local corner stores to get the next installment. There were no other X titles back then and Alpha Flight was THE spin off book. They popped on the scene and did battle with the X-men at that airport was nothing short of epic! Claremont was on his A game back then and Alpha Flight were the ones to watch. They even introduced çomicd first gay character way back then and it wasn't obnoxious or unbearable like it is today. Northstar was a favorite then as he is still to this day.

Radius and Feedback are just rip-offs of Diamond Lil. Murmur is a rip off of Purple Girl. Now this new character is a rip off off Flex. They really have to start ripping off characters outside Alpha Flight if they can't come up with new powers.
