Awesome presentation Scott! Would like to see more! You have likely seen the low-profile arch building method without support like this example in India: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/np2ZoaaXyt24hHU.html also using a fast setting cement (that I think is gypsum based) Can you share more about the fast setting cement in Spain? (Gypsum, Quicklime, CSA, CA, or?) (now I see that Edison Coatings distributes it) Thank you!

I love this! Thank you Harry and Scott! I know this subject is going to get more popular in months and years ahead. I got my plans brewing and I know A LOT of people who are going to do this type stuff. Lately I have been learning about Ancient Air Conditioning concepts. (Fremont Pit-House) or those designs in huge structures in Iran. I'm sure you have heard of that. I have so much to catch up on. ;).

Love all this Harry. Going to definitely source the Roman cement and bricks to reproduce some of these structures. Waiting for the dome build you mentioned a while back and resulsts from aircete test?

Great stuff! Got me daydreaming about a partially underground catalan vault (so the surrounding ground acts as the buttress). AH, could you please provide more info on the design calculations and/or software that Scott Howard mentioned? (at, and before, 21:35)

Thanks for asking. I don't have this software as it is proprietary to Jordi Domenech, master Catalan vault builder from Barcelona. If you go to Spain and study with him, he can share more about that software. You might look into Rhino Vault software as it can also help you a great deal with this type of design. Antonio Gaudi didn't use computer software (because he was building in the 19th century) and his funicular science using hanging chain models is still used today because it works so well. I primarily use the hanging chain modeling method.

I’ve been noticing a lot of natural builders are putting in plastic moisture barriers under earthen floors but then you loose the grounding effect. So I’m not sure why they think it’s a good idea.

In many cases it is due to building department requirements. Plastic is also used to act as a vapor barrier & radon barrier.

Mythology or methodology? Question, what about building with dirtcrete? This os an amazing vodeo rife with information I've didnt even know i needed and otjerninfo i have been after a long time. Just get a rental truck and go get your southwestern brick.

Good way to experiment, yes. Then it's about the strength comparison. Either way - there are many options, right. Yes, Scott - get the bricks. 🛻
