I play around with the new DIY cooking recipes from Animal Crossing: New Horizons and make Fruit Pizza!

I’m a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to dessert pizzas. First off, just basic pizza dough is perfect, I always make mine from scratch. I think candying the oranges was absolutely perfect, and from my own experience, making apple pie apples is also really good. I guess one last thing is the cheese. I usually don’t add any, but I think cream cheese would be good to cook onto it, that icing mix you made would also be great on it.

I guess pizza dough makes sence; otherwise it's just a pie or big cookie. I live right in the historic centre of a European city (not going to tell which one for privacy), and I often see shops and bars selling pizzas with nutella or ice cream. So weird!

Thanks for the awesome tips Miko. I agree, I think a basic dough would be better texture-wise and would make it less sweet. Will have to try that out for next time!

@@MisoHungrie might even be a good idea to do a basic pizza dough but add some fat like egg yolks to give it a richer texture.

this reminds me of that old tumblr post about the "fun pizza" except it actually looks really delicious, it reminds me of those honey bread, whipped cream, and fruit sandwiches that you can get in japan for picnics!

if you like Hawaiian pizza, I recommend meatlovers with pineapple. I sometimes even replace the pizza sauce with a Hawaiian BBQ sauce. Just a couple interesting pineapple pizza competitions.

I think one of my favorites I've come across is the fruit cupcake recipe, I like the way the game made them look. Though I was gifted the recipe for Pumpkin scones one morning, I thought that was really sweet!

Never tried dessert pizza. But the dessert pizza here is just thin brownie-crust, with marshmallow-"meatballs", dark chocolate "cheese" and caramel sauce. So pretty much I've had it in another form before...

idk if any other countries have this but in malaysia dominoes have a thing called banana kaya pizza. Its pretty much pizza with kaya instead of cheese and it's topped with bananas. It's a great dessert pizza even though it's kinda simple. if you've never had kaya, you should

I think desert pizzas can be nice, but they have to actually be made by somebody who knows about it, atleast a bit. I remember an episode from hotel hell where gordon ramsey was served a chocolate and strawberry "pizza" which does sound quite nice, the problem is from what i can see in the episode. THEY USED REGULAR PIZZA DOUGH

That fruit dessert pizza looks delicious! As interesting of a concept as dessert pizzas are aren't they just tarts by another name? Also can you really call it a pizza without putting cheese on it? A sweet cheese along with the cookie crust and fruit topping sounds like it could have potential.

Good point about the tarts lol. And the sauce that I used is cream cheese with sugar and vanilla and it definitely improved the flavor.

My mom used to make fruit pizza quite often! My brother liked it the way you did it here, but I always found it too sweet. I preferred to leave the cream cheese unsweetened, which I thought gave it a good balance. Also occasionally my mom would use a custard, like you might find in a fruit tart, which was also sweet but felt a bit lighter.

I actually have a GREAT fruit pizza recipe that i don't find too gimmicky. for one thing its on actual pizza dough and for another it plays a nice balance to the sweetness with some creamy ricotta cheese.

Oh, so fruit pizzas do exist in the form of dessert pizzas? That means I can prepare one without adding unfitting cheese and sauce to the fruit. Still, there are some recipes in the game that I don’t think will taste that good in real life (are veggie cupcakes really a thing?)

Look nice, I wonder if it would be better broiling the fruits? Me and my siblings suffer from pollen allergies that make eating curtain raw fruit uncomfortable to eat to put it lightly. Cooking said fruit breaks down the proteins which allows us to eat them no problem.

I would have done normal pizza dough and then custard for the sauces ,i think thats why the pizza on animal crossing looks more yellow for the sauce and there are dessert pizza that usually use custard whether chocolate or vanilla,also would have done more to the apple slices,since regular apple slices have not much taste to them and get brighter cherrys and then sugar glazed the fruit to make alot it glossy like the animal crossing pizza looks,but thats just my opinion xD using cookie dough for crust does make it to much sweet

I wonder if a pineapple pizza with cookie crust would be any good. Same amount of sugar perhaps but one singular fruit. but it's good for glucose :) if you want to eat sorta healthy but dont wanna eat plain old fruits this would be a good recommendation

Once in market I saw a chocolate pizza with other pizzas and I buyed to try. And it was good. Unfortunatelly I can't find anymore that chocolate pizza in any shop. Guest not everyone like it. It's a pizza dough with every chocolate toppings. It was good as hot and room temperature version.

@@MisoHungrie Ow that's great. I also love chocolate. It was Guseppe pizza from Dr. Oetker. It has dark chocolate sauce with white and milk chocolate flakes, chocolate drops and little chocolate cookies. Just to be precise. Of course if you want you would make own verion with toppings what you like.

Do you think a recipe like this could be modified for someone who's sensitive to fruit textures? I really love the *idea* of pretty, yummy fruits, but the vast majority of them have a texture that I just can't handle (autism). I really want to like fruit things, because they're so cute and they smell so nice, but the textures of most fruits make me gag :( I'd love to see some alternate takes on this recipe! My native fruit is oranges, on that note! But apples are the only ACNH native fruits I can actually tolerate biting into.

Hmm that's an interesting challenge but I think there are ways it can be adjusted to match your tastes. If you like apples, maybe just do a simple pizza with just apples as a topping (cream cheese sauce, add some cinnamon, caramel drizzle, oats, yum!) I would also look into freeze-dried fruits since those don't have that mushy soft consistency that a lot of fruits have. Instead they're crispy crunchy which you might like more. But yeah, start with things that you think you'll like and slowly introduce other ingredients that you think you might like.

out of all restaurants that existed you chose jollibee. why is that? is it bc they have properly working ice cream machines unlike the ones from most american mcdonals branches? lol also hawaiian pizza, im gonna stay neutral bc i like my junk food to have some healthy stuff in it (the healthy stuff being pineapples bc it has fiber and it makes you hor-)
