I for one love training vlogs. I really enjoy the nuance and minutiae of training. Even with stuff as relatively simple as a back squat.

I love the wooden walls. There's something about that old-school vibe, like the hall from the Bulgarian training videos.

I can dig the idea that you don't have to know, you just do. I think it's more than anything a personality thing. For example with me, my parents tell me that even as a little kid they had to explain and rationalize everything for me to accept what they were saying. And I've noticed in late adult life that I just encounter less problems if I'm explained the whys. So many things where I've had trouble performing them have clicked when I learned the why, suddenly it was obvious and easy. At first I might do things in a stupid or unnatural way even though I'm trying to copy the instructions, but when I get the why, it's like a snap of the fingers and I can adjust just the right way without instructions. It also boosts the motivation for me a lot when I feel like I know what I'm doing, it comes with a built-in purpose. Which is why my parents had hard time directing me, I wouldn't be motivated or do things right unless they made sense to me or I knew that they had a reason to ask for it. A fascinating topic. And probably a good idea for a coach to be aware that even that is a personality thing, an individual thing so they can adapt to the client for the best results depending on the client.

Dude the carrying your son on your shoulder thing is for real. I carry mine on my left shoulder and the right side of my core/hips always has some twinge in it. They might only be 10-20lbs but carry them for 2-5 hours on any given day and it adds up

would you please list the weight that is currently being lifted at any given moment? This would be helpful for me because these plates are different than what I'm used to, also I know some people use KG and some use LBS.

Hey fellas, my back has felt a bit weak lately since I've been mostly just squatting and not much else (for Squatober lol) Do you recommend I start back with some volume on something lighter like snatch pulls, or should I go for some heavy clean deadlifts? Or just anything?

Question as someone who is beginning to include more weightlifting into training: do you calculate snatch grip pulls as a percentage of your max snatch (whether below or above 100% of that value: i.e. 115% of snatch), or as a percentage of your deadlift? If a dumb question I understand lmao
@WhatFoolify
@WhatFoolify Жыл бұрын
Of a max snatch as they're usually done to keep a standard of speed. Otherwise, the deadlift snatch may correlate less to the snatch. All percent prescriptions I've seen of snatch pulls are of a snatch i.e. 90-115%. Feel free to correct what I wrote or add to it.
@dylansmall313

@@WhatFoolify That’s what I figured should be a large majority of the utilization, I wasn’t sure though in case usage of an overloading/building max strength in that position
