I tried ‪@Shirt113‬ 's Ironman Challenge variant where you can only escape through the fire exit and it was a LOT more difficult than I thought.
I was going to film my Eclipse Only Rend run when I got a message from ‪@brianevts‬ asking if I wanted to shoot some Lethal Company, and I'm usually down for collabs more than I am for solo runs.
That said, I didn't want to do a regular run like I've been doing with Brian, and I felt like it was time for him to experience Lethal Company from a more challenging perspective.
So I decided that we would try Larry's Fire Exit Only Ironman Challenge, since it was a variant I've been wanting to try and felt like it would be fine to feel it out in a duo format rather than sending it solo off rip ( like how I've done for all the ironman formats so far... except for the hardcore one for some reason).
I liked this Ironman variant because it forces you to actually explore the facility rather than go in and get out like how I normally play, so I had to get real comfortable navigating the interior on this run. And even moreso since I was guiding my friend Brian through it all.
This was a good introduction to the challenge and I have a way better feel of what's required in order to complete it, so I'll be giving it a shot solo in the near future.

Feels like there are a llllllot of ways to get softlocked From locked doors blocking the fire exit with no keys, to p much undodgable turrets, not counting other issues like terminal doors, landmines with awkwardly-placed pipes, and more

I also prefer the duo runs! Went back to doing a solo run after this and lowkey it wasn’t as fun lol. I still do solo runs when I need to film and no one’s available, but I always prioritize a collab over a solo run!

I think a fun ironman run would be all moons in order and meet a certain grade for scrap collected, so if you are solo you need to get a Grade B for loot collected, and with a Duo or above going for Grade A on the amount of scrap collected. The issue i can see with this though would be Titan being so big and the loot could be too deep in but I think it'd be a good idea.

a minor detail impressed me the most is when @1:15:16, austin actually took the snare flee with him by walking on to the land mine blindly by memory. that's the utter most rational decision to make at that dire condition with in a split of second. damn. if you think bout that hard enough, it can get even philosophical.

Brian's energy is so *refreshing* to see and hear honestly. I don't normally comment on videos, but man-that guy is so wholesome despite any circumstance. You too though! Amazing Lethal Company gameplay, I had a really fun time watching 😭😭 Can I just say-all 3 fire exits being hidden behind a locked security door SUCKS. That's some hell of RNG you had that run. Great run either way!

I first saw this mod as part of the Carrot Hardmode modpack and have had it saved in the back of my head ever since, so when Larry brought it up to me from an ironman perspective a light went off in my head 👀 Super fun way to tackle the ironman challenge, I hope you and your friend enjoy it!

yeah I considered lockpickers as a viable purchase back when Larry first shared the idea with me, but instead I figured that if you don’t find a key early on in the run then it’s just a run reset instead of commiting to a lockpicker the part I wasn’t expecting was losing runs to security doors when both the breaker and the fire exit are locked behind them 😅 nothing you can do about that lol

Larry did that when he got to Rend, and I was thinking of doing the same! Just never made it that far. Didn’t want to commit to an extension ladder early game since I think the shovel is more valuable early since most enemies are still killable until you get to Rend

@@sheffaustin That's fair, though the shovel only saved you once that second run. you can clip out in the facility with an extention ladder too, or maybe if you find the apparatus, you dont have to pull it but clip out and look for the exit there. the faster you find the exit, the less you have to worry about shovelable enemies. just food for thought, if u prefer the torch / shovel combo (that you lose by offense 😋), then go for it. also rq, that run the pressure door blocked exits, can be opened with the power box if u turn the power off. don't remember if you passed one, but they are very loud.

it’s not faster than the main entrance, but it can be safer depending on the outdoor spawn placements! just really hard to find/navigate if you don’t know where you’re going 😅

@@sheffaustinyou should make a video with skinwalkers (mod to make enemies talk) and masked overhaul (makes it so even if its masked it isn’t on their face, aswell as allowing you to configure masked spawn rates) enough configuring it can make it very realistic, not exactly similar to your normal content but its really fun

the game writes the storylines itself, just gotta play the game for them to come to life 😂 and that escape is easily the craziest thing I’ve done in Lethal Company so far! Though I’ve also been tested on similar levels in some of my more recent recordings too 😅

I’m pretty sure the number for how much you got on the moon is not accurate to a full clear. 208/222 experimentation, but you also left quite a bit of loot in there including the apparatus which would have easily put you in about 300/222

You can trap blobs in normal doors they can't open any door so if you close a door behind you you're safe
