Your videos really help me a lot in doing mechanic stuff as a hobby. I've fixed many of our lawn equipment using what I learned here. Just recently I fixed my Dad's Ariens snow blower that was running like garbage. The carb had over flowed over the summer and filled the crankcase with gas. Thanks to you I knew how to fix it and now we're ready for the New England storm coming up. Thanks for everything, Mustie!

Thanks for giving us a lesson in preseason maintenance. The transmission system(rubber disc) in these are very simple but are also cheap to maintain, however the newer ones have a transmission with actual gears which break and cost a fortune to replace as individual parts are unavailable. I also understand they last only 2 or 3 years and then you have to start all over. You will soon be finding these along the road at cleanup time so get a big shed ready to store them and you will have enough work for a year trying to find usable parts in them. Thanks again for the simple lesson

@georgeford60564 жыл бұрын
It probably seemed clean because the last owner sprayed it down with carb cleaner but didn't know enough to break it down when it didn't work and gave up. People forget that if it was running good when it was parked, there can only be something very minor keeping it from starting/running. Mine didn't want to start this year and all it turned out to be was a tiny bit of corrosion on the tip of the spark plug (cleaned it up and it started on the first pull).

That unit is probably only 5-6 years old. It has the "silent" feature on the muffler, something Craftsman first introduced around 2013 or so. Probably explains why the valves didn't need to be adjusted? I doubt it has many hours on it. Also, the two holes in the middle of the blower housing are for a snap-in chute discharge cleaning scoop. They are great to have, saves carrying a stick to clear a plugged chute with wet, sticky snow like we get around here. I believe they are sold under the "Arnold" name. I added one to my 1994 MTD and then the neighbors all wanted one for their snow blowers. Great video as always, very informative and excellent explanations of why one would adjust/lubricate a certain item. Oh, and we say "We do it nice because we do it twice"!

@@RichieCat4223 O.K.. Because English isn't my native language I don't understand everything and the Google translater is crap oftentimes. Will you please be so nice and tell me what "at tension" means? Thanks in advance.
