Chet, the same numbers on the tape measure are the same numbers or size of your open-end wrench set. So a bit smaller than 3/4" would be 11/16

Awesome measuring skills, I thought it was an Ohio thing to call it a short 3/4 lol !!
@BossmanEight4 жыл бұрын
Here in southern Indiana our measurements are "light" ( minus a 1/16") or "heavy" (plus a 1/16th). Makes more sense when you think about it. . . . . . . . . Or even if you don't.

Please Note ..Always when you hang drywall. put up the ceiling first and then the walls. This way the drywall on the walls will hold up the ceiling around the perimeter. Thus making a better joint and seal !!!

I feel the same way about squeaky floors. Annoying. When I built my log house I used the subfloor glue and I used 2 inch screws.
@joseph3104 жыл бұрын
The insulation smells sweet because many manufacturers use corn syrup as a bonding agent rather than the old formaldehyde based adhesives.
@gpackwood14 жыл бұрын
Floor squeaks usually respond well to short fat nails with fat heads ~ 2 or 3 nails per squeak.
@80shorrorronniepierce673 жыл бұрын
You should have made a brace with a two-by-four across that hole out in the hallwayand put more screws to hold it down and it will never it would never squeak
@samuelt19534 жыл бұрын
Oh and for your 3/4 plus we called it 3/4 heavy

@01Hokiefan4 жыл бұрын
Sure it is too late now. But that flange on the shower is to be covered by the sheetrock. Sheetrock goes all the way up to the shower then you caulk that edge. That is how I have always done it, also be sure to predrill the screw hole in that flange so you dont crack the shower enclosure.
@mannsjm4 жыл бұрын
Definitely do this. If you have not mudded yet, cut larger pieces of drywall to cover the edges of the shower flanges.

Back-in-the-day,.....short and long measurements, meant what side of the line you were going to cut on. "All Day", meant to cut on the line, to remove the line.

30 weight felt paper between the plies of wood stops that squeak. Old people call it tar paper.
