Way to work Chet after a long day of farming and shop work . His labor will be worth the time and hassle when done . The bathroom looks great for it being a diy project . You can't tell that you guys did 95 percent of the work . Nice video stay safe and keep up the good work !

The sheet was bowed when you measured it, keep your saw horses closer and possibly cut it a 1/8 to 1/4 inch short. Your Adhesive Fiberglass Joint Tape and joint compound will fill in the seems.

Hey Chet and Nicole, also just a heads up, when putting the final sheet into a room like that, what you do is bow the centre of the sheet, get ur 2 ends in true, then push your centre home, that few mm, (quarter inch) or so will sit right at home! (30 yrs Dry-Wall experience) Awesome job you 2! :)
@stevemueller37054 жыл бұрын
You two are so funny! Love it!
@audiman_12744 жыл бұрын
You can cut the drywall short, that’s why drywall mud comes in five gallon pails. 😂
@BeachBoyAAA4 жыл бұрын
Better to minimize the gaps, otherwise joints are more likely to move and crack.
@cmusic524 жыл бұрын
I was thinking #1 rule I've found with cutting drywall.... no wall is ever perfectly straight.... it was probly 86 3/4" at the bottom of the wall but 86 5/8" at the top... but also... totally yes!!! that's why you use 90 minute drywall mud and mix it in 5 gallon pails and mud quickly, then it drys relatively fast even if you have to lay it on thick, if you need more time to work, you can just add some extra water when mixing it, and use a drywall sander to sand it off if you get it a little thick.. just a large sander and use 40-80 grit sand paper

Nicole, put in some electric towel racks. They can serve as radiators in the winter. Chet is a smart dude, but I would push back on the “doors are always open” theory. Good way to get frozen pipes in the MN winter.

2 hints or tricks from a sheetrocker both carry from the face side it a lot easier and if it doesn't fit hold the internals and just bow the centre out. Glad you took my advice and double layered the ceiling much easier. Cheers Tony, sydney Australia
