In this video, I will be discussing my thoughts on the now canceled Insomniac multiplayer spider-verse game "Spider-Man: The Great Web" and discussing the leaked trailer that has been making waves online. The trailer features 5 players taking on the roles of various Spider-man versions. Some notable mentions being SpiderGwen, Myles Morales, Peter Parker, Ben Riley(Skarlet Spider), Spider-Man 2099, and even Venom himself. I will be sharing my what I think of the concept and theorizing maybe why It was canceled. At the end of the day a multiplayer Spider-man game with the exact controls from the single player game feels like something that would be a net win. I don’t think it’s canceled. I think it’s gonna be delayed until they add some long multiplayer MJ missions.

It should be a standalone game instead of Spider-Man 3 I would love to see it before or after SM3 if it gets revived

The trailer looked cool. Looked honestly like it could've been better than Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in my opinion, if done right. I wasn't a big fan of the idea a few months ago, but the trailer convinced me otherwise. Different fighting & swinging styles would've sold this game, as well has having great mission variety. Sucks to see this got cancelled.

Yeah I will say this trailer did a great job of really selling the idea. I’d imagine the positive feedback will probably make this a reality eventually in some way. If not it would be a real shame.

@@Eric_Rosas The hack may have done some irreversible damage to Insomniac's future games plans. This will most likely be just a piece of history that never saw the light of day. Or maybe this gets turned into a DLC for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 this year, would be cool.

To be genuine and serious, NONE of this feels like a leak for a “cancelled” game. With how many details we know, the trailers with YURI VOICEOVER, the gameplay, all of it doesn’t FEEL like a canned game. I think it’s a game Sony is iffy about and someone either at them or Insomniac gave it to leakers to gauge interest

I honestly thought the same thing at first. Every reputable publication has reported on it so either its real or they've successfully fooled everyone haha.

100% real. No modder can fake the web wings. The web wings are from Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Honestly, the trailer looks good, but as mentioned: it was probably or could have been a liver service game. And I think that I'd rather have Insomniac stick to single player games or at least stick to their narrative for Spider-Man because I think a liver service game would taint the way we look at Insomniac. I don't think it's be terrible or anything but liver service games right now are divisive with games lile Suicide Squad releasing. So all in all, while it looks great, I'm not sad or hung up that we won't get it.

I think carnage is not going to be dlc but instead his going to be a major villain alongside green goblin and doctor octopus in Spider-Man 3

I could def see that because carnage is a pretty substantial villain himself. He could easily be the main villain of a title.

At first I thought the trailer wasn't real. I wish Insomniac didn't cancel the game.

Yeah I also was skeptical. So far I’ve seen every major outlet report on it so Im gonna go under the assumption it’s real. I agree it looks really awesome!

I think a game with multiple spidermen is just stupid. I’d prefer Spider-Man and other marvel characters.

I def think a game like this would need to provide a completely unique gameplay experience for each character otherwise I do feel it would feel incredibly stale. As for a team up with other characters, that would honestly be the dream. They just gotta figure out the right way to pull it off
