Chris on an excavator, John in the dump truck, and it's like a return to the old formula. And that house was about ready to catch fire, with being all tinder-dry wood and air gaps.

Watching you & John today was a testament to how you work together. It isn't surprising, it hasn't been that long since you went out on your own, but it was still nice to see you two. Once again you took a sad, defeated lot and opened up all of its possibilities. Geoff has to be tickled pink to once again have a lot that he can advertise: Property expertly sculpted by Chris Guins, Letsdig18.
@Duane-O-Matic2 күн бұрын
Great seeing John. Chris and him worked well together, many times setting a culvert or overflow, just looking at each other to see what the other thought...not even signaling just working together. Reminds me of my dad and Uncle....just a look was all they needed to get "OK' or wait, "Move it couple more taps" or whatever.

Another great job, Chris. Was thinking all the house remains would take at least 10 truckloads. Thinking Geoff will have you grade this property out?? what happened with all that money?? was that a joke for the video or was it actually left there?? Seriuosly, James actually thought you could just load all the metal on a flatbed trailer?? just too funny..All in all, after all was cleaned up and taken away, lot looks really nice now, and LOVE those big old oak trees in the front, with the NEW house sitting further in the back. Will look really nice.

This channel is awesome. Also there seems to be a difference between an excavator motor and an eighteen wheeler motor. The excavator motor sounds more hypnotic than a truck motor .
@crandonborth2 күн бұрын
That the hydraulic pumps you hear not so much the motor... its not as bad on the newer machines but the older ones will give you a headache from the high pitched whining noise for hours at end.

Black flies are commonly called biting gnats. They are closely related to mosquitoes. ( Also referred to as buffalo gnats, deer flies, stable flies, biting midges or sand flies. ) What repels biting gnats ? The only way to get rid of gnats without killing them is to repel them with scents they don't like: vinegar, vanilla, pine oil, peppermint, lemon, eucalyptus, and lavender.

Tore a house down that had 1x8's or 10's on 24" centers. 14' room with a few stones in the middle. A bit spongy! Vertical studs for 2 story were 2x2's!! So much for the good way they used to build 'em!
@gravelydon70722 күн бұрын
Unlike our 212 year old farmhouse which is whole logs with the tops smoothed off every couple feet. And then T&G flooring nailed on top. And the logs are Oak that are a minimum of 12" in diameter. In the old days, whatever wood grew on a place would be used which is why a neighbor's chicken coup had a 8x8 Black Walnut ridge beam 16' in length.
