That's too funny!! I think my daughter would very likely pick David Sedaris. She's been reading him since 4th grade, and I believe it was 5th when her school called to ask if I was aware she was reading a book called 'Naked' and this principal had skimmed a bit, didn't think it was appropriate to bring to school. This was Alabama, where the average ADULT can't read beyond 6th grade level, but hey at least they don't read filth, right? 😆😂🤣

Fwiw, I met her at an event, and she was a bit standoffish, kinda guarded. So, it seems like she has to ramp up to the persona you see here, or needs a spotlight to focus her energy. You've probably met someone just like her, just need to catch her at the right time.

She turned, and I put out my hand to shake hers and told her I really love her work. She only sort of looked at me, and I wasn't sure if it was b/c she was shy or was afraid I'd start rambling in her general direction (sometimes stars avoid eye contact b/c making eye contact invites conversation, and if they're not at an event, they usually don't want that), she gave me a very sweet thank you, and she walked off...and I 100% regret not asking her out to go to dinner or something. A friend of mine, who knows I've a crush on her, was also angry at me. I mean, I DID get to go out w/The Late Show's Hula Hoop Girl, so why not Amy?!

Yes, but I think it's genuine. If you ever read her brother's books about his family, they are all characters. A lot of trauma in their family but at least two of them turned out to be really funny.
