i had the zero 2 and when it pairs ok bur only work the select button that start the recording, no one of the other buttons works, im on android samsung galaxi s23, keyboardimput english. so i dunno what im doing wrong!?? do you?

Is working with an Android phone. unuse key can add few functions to work at same time. example "E + I + M" (Away-Upwards-Gimbal Downwards)

I have 2 8bitdo micro and it works with android (samsung s23 ultra). I can connect multiple controllers. But it do the same work for just once players on tank battle NES game. Anyone can play tank battle with multiple player please help me.

For anyone having issues connecting the controller to the hover: The controller will have different bluetooth names, depending on which 'mode' the bottom switch is in. It pairs as Bluetooth device 'Pro Controller' when switched to 'S'. You will need to pair separately while in 'K' mode (hold the pairing button again) where the bluetooth device name is '8bitdo micro controller'. Use that one! And a note for you 4-T tech! The diagram at 6:50 is incorrect, at least according to my experience. D and C are strafe (move) left and right, where J and H are turn left and right respectively. I noticed my drone strafing when I meant to turn after mapping based on your diagram. Easy fix though! Thank you for making this video! Incredibly helpful and I'm so happy to be able to fly with a controller!!!

Thanks for the video. I'm on android and not sure quite how but my letter config was different to the ones you displayed(eg move left and right are C D not J H). Got there with some trial and error. Probably an error with something I did but got it working how i wanted. Just need to remember which way the drone is facing when using it!

Hi there, thanks for the comment. That's strange, I wouldn't have thought that the letters would be different but you got it working in the end so that's the main good thing. Yes, there is a setting in manual mode which flips the controls around depending on whether the drone is facing towards or away from you.

I have a pixel 7 and, after pairing the controller to the phone, when i go in the hoverair app, i select manual control, then when i select RC, it brings me back to my bluetooth settings where it shows the controller paired, but it's like it wants me to select the controller again. I click on the paired controller and it brings me to the bluetooth settings for the controller, but never connects with the hoverair app. Its a loop where the paired controller never connects with the app.

Great video. Thanks! One question: can you use two of the directional buttons simultaneously, like Down and Forward (if they're mapped to separate parts of the controller)? That would enable a smooth descent as you bring the drone in. Or, is it only one command at a time, so you'd have to go Down / Forward / Down / Forward (etc) -- perhaps really fast, but still sequentially, not concurrently?

Hi there! Thanks for watching and your question. Yes it is possible to use two buttons at the same time like forward and down so it descends while moving forward. You can't control how much it moves forward while it is descending - so the angle of descend like you can with a DJI drone.

Hi, it's good to see you make follow-up's about the remote. For a lot of users very useful 🙂 I have a question about the X1. Since this week I have problems with the Orbit mode. In stead of video it's makes a few photo's. Am I doing something wrong here?

UPDATE: I JUST FOUND THE SOLUTION MYSELF! We have to use the default keyboard on our phones (not a third-party keyboard apps). In my case, I was using the SwiftKey Keyboard. As soon as I default to the Samsung Keyboard... problem solved! Now the 8BitDo controls the drone perfectly. Hope this help. :) Nice detailed infos. However, I did everything according to your instructions for "mode 2", but in the end the remote didn't control the drone. Strangely, the only button that is working is the one with the sign "minus" witch is N on the keyboard. When I press it, the drone starts the recording after a countdown on screen of 3 seconds. Any other buttons are not transmitting anything to the drone. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I just subscribed to your channel.

Hi thanks so much for this tip and solution, I didn't know that about 3rd party keyboards. I was just using the default keyboard. Did you mean that your solution fixes your issue with Mode 2, or that it is still an issue after using the default keyboard? And thanks for the sub!

Hi, thank a lot for your vidéos very clear. I followed your instructions to configure the 8bitdo Micro controller, everything works except the gimbal which does not react with the letters K and M or other letters. I have a hoverair X1 which works perfectly in mode controlled by the iPhone but not with the 8bitdo for the 2 gimbal controls. Have you encountered or heard of this problem ? I'm open to advice from you or the community. Thanks in advance. Bert.

Hi Bert, thanks for watching and your question, I'll try and help. Can you check that the gimbal up/down is only mapped to those letters and there are no duplicate mappings with the same letters - as that will stop it working. Also, the gimbal head can move very slowly so can look like it's not working, but takes a while to actually move up /down (a few seconds). If that doesn't work, please post in a comment your mappings and I'll try and diagnose the problem for you.

Hi - I'm not sure completely understand, can you clarify? Does it sometimes work ok, but sometimes not - or does it say "connected" in bluetooth settings but not in Hover app? Can you add some more information and I'll try and help

Is it possible to perform multiple maneuvers at the same time with this controller? For example, fly forward, fly upward and tilt the gimbal downward all at the same time?

Hi Mario, thankns for the question. Yes, it's possible to press more than one key at once - ie forward and upward. I haven't tried moving the gimbal at the same time only as it needs good hand coordination, but it's possible

Hi, another question for you. In birdseye mode it's possible to change the gimbal rotation speed. In manual mode it is not as far as I know. The footage comes out jerkey. Any suggestions?

Hi - thanks for the question. No it's no possible to change the gimbal rotation speed either in birdseye or in any other mode. It's also not possible in manual mode either. It would be really nice if they added this to a future firmware, so fingers crossed they will! Footage might appear jerky due to light wind conditions - try putting the footage through a video stablizer which might smooth things out

@@4T-Tech Hi, thanks again for your reply. I think I meant the right left rotation of the drone itself. Let's say the drone is hovering in manual mode to film the surroundings. If I rotate the drone and film then the footage is jerky and I think it's because of the speed and the quality of the camera. Am I right?

@@19ab59 Hi, I think I have noticed the same thing. When it rotates it seems to wobble and can't keep completely level. I thought it might be slight wind causing it to drift, but it might be more that it only has one sensor to keep it level and is adjusting it's height by over compensating. I'm not sure though, it's a bit annoying and not smooth like DJI drones. I find stablizing the footage in a video editor helps smooth it out, so if you haven't tried this, you could give it a go maybe.? Thanks, Tim

This is really confusing... You say to pair the 8bitdo with the app. They disconnect it. There has got to be an easier way. I must be doing something wrong. HELP. Thank you.

Hi - you only need to use the config app when you want to change some key mappings. After you have done that, you don't need to have the app running anymore. From then on, you just need to ensure the controller is connected via bluetooth to your phone in Bluetooth settings and have just the Hover app running in Manual Mode with the option RC (remote controller).
