Just got the X350 today and it's great to have this demonstrated. JD really covers all the bases to make sure the machine is set up right. Here's a shout out to Jonathan at Scruggs in Tupelo Mississippi. Nice folks that are very helpful!

Is the deck supposed to be raised or lowered?
@aprilgeneric80272 жыл бұрын
lowered. unlike what this clown said this is a mower not a rake, you don't want any beveled edge as it releases the air used to lift the grass up to be cut, you release that air anywhere, your grass lays down all over under the deck. it's a vacuum principle, with these thin cheap blades sand murders them in about 6 months there is no more lift edge to create the vacuum as it was near 90% wore off by sand. starting where the bend starts in the fan lift part of the blade. if you want to do it the way this clown says then you need high lift blades which means it's a blade with more of the blade dedicated to a steeper longer fan curve on the back side. this will increase strain on the motor, increase fuel usage, and requires full throttle at all cutting times. it will also strain the deck spindle bearings more. essentially it's advise how to wear out your blades, deck, motor faster, so you have to buy new parts or machines from them more frequently. desert greens is essentially a word combination that is an oxymoron, like wet sun, man-bear-pig.

Just discovered my deck wasn’t setup right EVEN REMOTELY by the dealer (not you guys) when I went to level my deck. So friggin disappointing. Thanks for the video, though! Extremely hopeful. This would explain why my grass was getting cut super short even at “3.25”, which was probably closer to 2.25” in actuality.

What to do if your tool will not turn the bolt to raise or lower the deck. Seems like the bolt on my X350 is frozen.

If it wont turn in either direction spray or with some penetrating oil and let it soak for a bit

Where is the front deck adjustment? To what do I apply the 18mm or 3/4" wrench?
@rustyl27302 жыл бұрын
should have shown the front deck adjustments. Adjusting both bolts or just one.
@aprilgeneric80272 жыл бұрын
the front draft arm hanger bracket has threaded arms and a stop nut for each part of the draft arm hanger. essentially you are just increasing tension so that the sag to let the front of the deck be pulled so taunt there is little play. you yard better be perfectly level to eliminate too much of this as the play is there to deal with surfaces with inclines and declines and curved contours.

You didn't show how to adjust the front. Just something about you'll a 18mm wrench.

I tried to attach deck to my x350 john deer tractor but it didn’t go lower to cut the grass,don’t know why
@aprilgeneric80272 жыл бұрын
these types of mowers are for 3"+ grass. if you want lower than this you have to go to a reel mower which goes from 1/4" to 2"/3" depending on the brand.

@@aprilgeneric8027this mowing will cut as low as 1 inch. You're not being very helpful passing on information that's incorrect

Push and hold down the pedal at your left foot. This will allow you to turn the adjustment knob on the floor directly in front of your feet it has settings from 1"-4". Adjust it to whatever height youd like. Also check your antiscalp wheels they are adjustable also to match what height youd want to cut. If you dont adjust them to match the deck height you'll either drag them through the grass the whole time you're mowing and will have a bad cut,or you can scalp your lawn. They adjust with a wrench,and their setting are wl marked.
