How does that sweet spot where it doesn't take any effort to balance factor in? I have a wheel barrow and if the load is distributed properly, once I get it to a certain height it requires little or no effort to keep it there. When using a two wheel dolly, once the load is at a certain angle it requires little or no effort to keep it there. If I want to lift an object just off of its resting point and keep it there, how do I determine where I want the fulcrum so that I need hardly any effort to lift it?

How would you calculate the distance that each side can move up and down relative to the lengths of each side of a lever system?

So what if the lever weight is 80lbs and it's now in motion? A motor.

A weight is hanging from a pulley. The Rope is wound around a pulley several times, and this is what is supporting the weight. So what is the force that supports the weight?... A) Frictional B) Centrifugal C) Compression D) Gravitational

D)The tension force is what is supporting the weight which is provided by the gravitational force. Friction force is only present when the weight is accelerating along an incline plane. Centrifugal is not present since the pulley is not accelerating outward and compression obviously makes no sense. The rope being wound around the pulley DOES NOT provide any important information (i.e. its useless information).

ahggg...you should have gone on to math-out the 2nd class lever, which is the wheel barrel type lever, I'm interested in making a simple machine (poor man's arbor press) for my model rocket motor projects.

Confusing, Why not put things ings in numericsl order. 1st lever furst 2nd 2nd. 3rd 3rd. Not 1, 3, then 2. Use also the same loads/ efforts eg 100grams/kilos/lbs. So we can see that it require more or less to move it. Just so Confusing this way your doing. Thats My opinion.

This is wrong!! It's actually output divided by input.
