Remember Bertholdt's lines to Armin during Return To Shinganshina arc "Nobody is right or wrong here, the situation is to blame not anybody else" sums up AOT. Everyone was a victim of their circumstances, and that is what reflects in their choices as well.

When I clicked on this I thought it was just another stupid yaegerist video that would say Eren was right, but I was quite wrong in that assumption. This is an extremely good, intelligent analysis that does the story justice, and a criminally underrated video

Eren was right before the trash ass ending yeah because it was Eldia or the world, let me put it this way would u sacrifice ur country? Your family and friends? For the entire world that doesnt even know you and discriminates ur country and wants it to be anihilated or would u sacrifise the world for your friends and family the people u know and care and want to take care off. Im pretty sure if u are a sane and not a psychopath loner who actually has a good social life and close with with ur family u should be able to choose the former easily. 139 ended ruins Eren's entire character and makes him look like a retard that isnt right whatsoever since hes literally just a psychopath who killed 80% of the world for no reason so u are somehwat right. Overall if were talking about the ending Eren Eren was not right he was retarded and stupid and if we are talking about pre ending then he was definitely right. The entire world hated him and his entire race it should be natural to fight back. Unless u are a pussy ofc 🤣 Just before ending dont try and say Eren couldve done it diplomatically because in the series it clearly showed that there was no chance of getting Eldia safe diplomaticly.

@@daniaaalso eren is supposed to just stick with the partial rumbling and keep trying to get the rest of the world to be friends with paradis?

I think you can look at Eren and Levi as mirrors in a way. Eren was always obsessed with power, control and strength. He felt weak, small and constantly controlled by his emotions. The Rumbling was his ultimate flex of power, but he could've easily been in control by Ymir, the primordial worm or a slave to the time-paradox. As he says, a slave to freedom. He became what he sought to destroy, because he refused to change. Levi on the other hand, was strong and stoic. Even though he grew up in the underground, nearly starving to death, with a very bad influence as a 'father figure' and was on his way to become a Kenny 2.0. Levi turned his life around, found purpose with the Scouts and became a hero. Sure, he had to do some really awful things - like cut down his own men who were transformed into titans. But he never forgot their importance. He knew the value of his squad and the sacrifices they made. I don't think Eren truly understood death and sacrifices in the same way. For Eren, when people died it just reinforced his inferiority complex. For Levi it strengthened his resolve to protect others. But I dunno, I think ultimately Eren is responsible for the choices he made. He just ended up making all the wrong choices. Eren had a deeper connection with and many interactions with Armin who should've been his moral compass in those weird times. Even Mikasa, Eren was surrounded by people trying to instill a moral code into him. But he just never.. really got it. Probably because Eren is just a psychopath.. lol.

Wow, what a great analysis! I can tell you put a lot of work and research into this. The only thing I could call a mistake sounds like it comes from doing it all in a foreign language, not from any lapse of your skill or consideration. There is a subtle difference between saying, "Make the choice you think you'll regret the least," vs, "Make a choice you will never regret," or even "Don't regret your choices." Although, it's possible Eren might have misunderstood Levi a bit, since he's just a traumatized kid with no future and way too much power. Throughout the series, Levi has regrets and second thoughts about his decisions (esp. about Eren and I agree he probably would blame himself), so I don't think he would intentionally advise Eren not to reflect or regret anything. But in the heat of battle, when doubts can get you killed, you just have to make your best guess, because lives are at stake. So, imo it's not that Eren 'didn't do anything wrong.' It's just that the tragedy he inflicted on humanity was the best decision he could think of on his own, and he couldn't bring himself to ask for help. As such, he was heavily influenced by his reactive and impulsive biases, like you say. Maybe we can all agree on one thing about Eren: That was the best he could do.

Oh yes i agree. I think people misconstrued Eren's actions. He clearly was not doing the right thing, nor was the decision to commit genocide the right way, but within the limits of what Eren was placed in, alongside with his experience and his character, Eren did what he thought he would regret the least. That's why Eren said that in the end, he was an idiot. He was not as wise as Erwin, Hange or Armin. He just so happens to get a hold of powers beyond his understanding, and used it to further his own goals that he doesn't even know if it's the best outcome. He only believed it was.

with the way things were building up in Marley highly doubt it. And I think if Eren waited any longer than he did to use the rumbling paradis woulda been toast.

@@kelvinanjos Sorry, I didn't get any notifications. But anyway, Levi didn't really trigger a spark at all. He told Eren to make decisions but he meant wise decisions not cruel, reckless ones. I just really hate that Eren fans are acting like Levi's the one who's the bad guy, when he's been very consistent and sticking to the right values.

Truthfully it was Levi’s fault as well on encouraging Erwin to lead the scouts to his and their death and paid the price between choosing between Erwin and Armin on who will wield the colossal Titan, he kept it a secret this whole time and never told the TRUTH!!!!!!

Honestly, Erwin having already lost his right arm should have stayed back and wait at the headquarters like Levi was suggesting him to do, because there was a huge possibility that he'd die like he did, but Erwin wanted to be there in the battlefield to watch it all happen with his own eyes, like bruhh???Considering how composed, smart and far-sighted he usually is, that decision was horribly foolish in every regard. It was not like the Erwin Smith, a man who thinks 10 steps ahead, the genius leader we knew all this time. Isayama ruined his character here. The disaster that followed was perfectly avoidable. Armin would be saved with the titan serum and Erwin would have lived to not only see the basement but also lead the scouts in the intensely tumultuos times that laid ahead. The whole story would have taken a different turn, if Erwin did not act out of character.

@@TatakhaeI understand what you are saying but I don’t think it ruined Erwin it made him a way better character we all know he should of stayed back even the characters in the show know but Erwin was obsessed with his dream he said he would put it above humanity Erwin is a gambler we see that with the expedition outside the walls and with the female titan in trost Erwin knows that the mission to reclaim the wall is going to be a bloodbath and if he doesn’t go with them and they die he will never reach the basement because Levi and eren are dead so he would have no reason to be the commander also I think you can argue that without him there would be no charge for Levi to flank around but I do get what you are saying that is knocks him down a peg because he is not the same super genius he was in season 1 and 2 but in my opinion perfect characters are boring
