YES!! I go absolutely crazy for these size comparisons. These indomitus terminators really blend the line very oddly between firstborn and primaris, since they're wearing armour you can field lore-wise (with some emblem scraping) in chaos or even heresy armies.

I think the posing of the Chaos Terminators do make them look a little shorter, because they all look very hunched down more than the Leviathan new termies, their legs look more farther apart from each other, got that whole "advancing" pose to them, coupled with their slightly smaller size, I think the scale's generally pretty good on them. I always saw the Tartaros as more "agile" terminators, so I suppose I don't really mind their whole slightly petite look, Bit sad that Khorne marines didn't get their own terminator equivalence, would be nice to see modern day Red Butchers, but I suppose that's kinda filled in with the 8-bound or whatever. Actually I'd really love to see how those 8-bound Khorne marines look compared to the new Terminators, same with the new Khorne Berzerkers vs Primaris as well, if you're able to that is! Love these vids!

I'dve liked to see deathshroud in the comparison. They're a lot less hunched than pretty much every other type of terminator, and stand a tiny bit taller than blightlords.

Exactly what I wanted. I'm really tempted to buy some Cataphractii and Tartaros Termies to mix into Relic squads. But the Tartaros are a bit too small for my tastes. Might have to use your technique to make them stack up next to the Leviathan termies

Very useful. You probably don't have them available but I would have liked to have seen them compared to the Space Marine heroes terminators, or even the old Space Hulk Blood Angel Termies. Very informative video and thank you for making it. It is handy for references.

Thanks for the thorough size comparison. I am glad the Cataphracti holds up pretty well size wise, i actually really REALLY dislike the models but sadly the 'Morlock Terminators' i am building are wearing this pattern so i had to pick some up. It's funny, the Tartaros doesn't fair that well size wise but still looks like a good model however the Cata looks like something from '95 or a Bargain bin Wargames Factory (no offense) ' Heavy Space Knight' or whatever by comparison. I am planning on some heavy conversion work (did i mention i hate them?) but assessing the sprue anything but minor embiggening was going to be really tough so thanks again.

My head canon is since terminator armor is almost never produced anymore, the old firstborn indomitus suits might have needed some height modification to accommodate primaris, so I believe the chaos terminators are still fine.

I really like the Terminator aesthetic. I recently finished replacing my old metal terminators with plastics. My Blood Angels have a total of 40. A squad each of Cataphractii and Tartaros. The other 30 are a mix of the Space Marine Heroes, Blood Angel Assault Terminators and Space Marine Terminators. The new models look good. The increased size is not helpful. I may add them to my Space Wolves. There is old 2nd edition lore about an especially large Wolf Guard named Ranulf (though a model was never released.) I may use them a "Ranulf's Legacy" to explain why they are larger than the neighboring Wolf Guard Terminators. The old metal minis are absolutely tiny compared to the most recent models. Thanks for the comparison vid. This helps as I haven't built my Leviathan Terminators yet.

Very interesting seeing them all Lined up next to the new terminators. I just received the Red Butchers but they are small even next to the new berzerkers...a bit unfortunate and they are resin so I could not really upscale them...they look cool but I think I am going to stick them on some rocks to create a bit of Height. Any chance to you can do a size comparison between tortuga bay cataphractii, regular cataphractii, and Leviathan terminators. I’ve been thinking about the tortuga bay minis but not sure.

Tartaros has the depth in the side profile the cataphractii does not have to be fair. The Chaos terminators also have a longer stance with wider strides, so stood upright they would be a lot closer. Think you need to get some custodes, space marine heroes, space hulk and some of the larger/more recent forgeworld terminators also like the Knights Cenobium or the more recent praetors.

Thank you for comparison! New chaos terminators are all quiet forward-leaning, so they are actually slightly taller than it seems. However, not so tall as Leviathans.

The older patterns should be bulked up and rereleased imo

ive compared them and even normal firstborn terminators dont look half bad they are smaller, but still epic, terminators are terminators and the levithan termies are better but onley by a couple points a normal termie bieng like a 7, a primaris termie by a 9.5. so it works really well. ill continue to field my firstborn with my primaris marines.

Yeh, I really do not like the larger scale stuff. The design is worse imo. The storm bolters on the new Termies look awful. I love the Cataphracti and the Tartaros. They are both perfect imo.

I dont see the diference betwen tartarus and new armor being too big that i couldnt justify it in a horus haresy army or display as tartarus is meant to be light terminator armor but who knows maybe their uodate the terminator armors in haresy to be scaled with the new one at one point as they are seeming be ajusting the scale of armors for haresy Also less anoying scale than the damn haresy plastic praetors who are almost bigger than the cataphracti and are taller than primaris

I think at this point they should enlarge all the suits of terminators, even the horus heresy one.

Tartaros are a severe disappointment size wise. I cant believe GW charges 100 dollars for 10 of them. Hardly more plastic than a space marine

A terminator should be like a tortoise - damn impossible to crack, but topple him on to his back and aint gonna be able to sort himself out. These new ones are starting to look too athletic. I prefer my termies as cumbersome squatters - it suits the lore better (and gives out body confidence vibes).
