Sure enough, we have figured out the basics of true levitation. Discovered back in 1996 at NASA, it is now known that levitating a conductive object is entirely possible, and being done around the world! But just how is this possible?

We can use cathode rays from down side to elevate it but it will be little unstable , so to overcome that we can use cathode rays from bottom in such a manner that rays will be stronger peripherally but less in central portion of bottom plates. Like inverted conical fashion i.e. in shape like "V". Maybe we need too much energy for that , but great thing is that you have all equipment for that .

How you ever wondered how to levitate a Dyonic sphere such as Cocoon in final fantasy XIII? It has its own athmosphere, gravity, oceans and ice but keeps stable despite the weather of Gran Pulse without falling on it. What kind of technology do we need to build up this miniplanet with its own cities and sharing the same athmosphere of the planet it levitates?

This demonstration is really fascinating. I have an silly idea. What if we make a tunnel with same setup and use some kind of force that pushes the object forward horizontally. I know it's a silly idea. Btw we can do the same with superconductors but they require to be at zero temperatures which require a lot of energy. I wonder if your setup can be modified to use for transportation similar to magnetic levitation using superconductors and perfect diamagnetic materials since it is easier to produce high voltage than to keep superconductors at sub zero temperatures. I knew about levitating charged objects using ionic wind but didn't ever think we can do the same by simply placing a charged object between highly charged plates. Nice demonstration of Quasi-Stable levitation.

@paulneilson6117
@paulneilson6117 4 жыл бұрын
Multiply the distance to the ionosphere time how many volts per meter? The average electric field is 200 volts per meter pointing down. So earth is negative. The ionosphere is positive. 200 V/m × 1×10^5 m= 20 MV. The ionosphere is at 100 km.
@esecallum
@esecallum 3 жыл бұрын
@@PlasmaChannel not true for an infinite flat plate. the force remains the same regardless of distance. in practical terms the surface area of ionosphere is large relative to the distance to the ground 60 km to a 1000 km so fall of distance will be a lot less.

I have a question. Since the atmosphere has a downward pointing electric field, couldn't a negatively charged object be made to levitate over the ground? I assume a very high charge would be necessary. If so, couldn't altitude be controlled by varying the charge on the object? 😀
@PlasmaChannel
@PlasmaChannel 4 жыл бұрын
That is a great question. I suppose it could, in theory, as long as the electric field gradients were high enough to ionize the air and create thrust. At 300 volts per meter of elevation, and an object being, say 10 cm in height, experiencing only 30 volts difference between top and bottom, that is not nearly enough voltage to create thrust. You are correct, a very high charge would be needed.

What if you take out the negative plate, and make a ball that gets discharged into itself but slowly... maybe a tiny piece of iron inside a foam shell but with something to make electrical contact between the outside and the center? I know it sounds crazy but if that ball could get charged in the outside but discharged to its core slowly it could find a place near the positive plate where it would stay levitating, probably the bigger the dielectric discharge rate the closer it would be to the positive plate.

I wonder if it's possible to stabilize electrostatic levitation by active control of voltage rather than passive by corona discharges on the edges? As magnetostatic bearings are stabilized by active fine tuning of the magnetic fields. - Context e.g. being MEMS bearings.
@PlasmaChannel
@PlasmaChannel 2 жыл бұрын
The one issue with voltage control is that any capacitive surface will hold a charge, and thus, has a rise and fall time for voltage. So, controlling the voltage too fast / quickly wont work. It would be limited on how fast it could adjust. Great idea none the less.

So yeah I don't think that's right, that's less lethal than touching AC

Let me try to help. First I don't understand your formulas. The microwave oven transformer is 2000 volts at 500milliamps. (0.5A). I don't know what the second one is? Jay mentioned 0.1A which is 100milliamps is the amount of current that is very lethal. I'm a independent researcher and I can honestly say the microwave oven transformer is indeed 0.5A. Microwave transformer is 5 times that required to kill. Please understand the Tesla coil also produces high frequency. Higher the frequency the less the current penetrates the skin. The microwave is 60Hz which makes it much more dangerous (lower frequency). Also judging from the fact that Jay doesn't twitch or move when touching the spark of the Tesla coil, I'd say its below 10mA (.01A) because at that current your muscles begin to contract. However this also is dependent on the Skin Effect he mentions. If the Tesla coil is 10mA or less then it is 1/50th the current of the microwave oven transformer. I hope this helps?

Oh ok, I didn't know more frequency is less painful, anyways the math I did was Body Current Flow= Voltage÷YourResistance×Currrent I get it now xd

And also, 1/50 current on the microwave, but notice that they're different voltages, but js

they are different voltages at .5 amp with 2000 volts is 1000 watts. if Tesla coil is 100,000 volts then to equal 1000watts the current would only be .01amp or 10 milliamps

But idk if it's at .01amp, he didn't say, but like you said, higher frequency is less pain

You do not want to defy gravity you want to make gravity. Because gravity is related to magnetism therefor the first law of magnetism is also the first law of gravity. Opposits attract and likes repel. Gravity repels gravity, or in other words gravity is a pushing force. Gravity pushes against gravity, Which then also explains how we get planetary shelving. What is in the micro is also in the macro, ie, electron shelving. Gravational potential places the planets in shelves around the sun. So if you have a gravity field ov 1g you will repel away from earth at almost the speed of light but will not get any further that the opposit side of earths planetry shelf. Just like the so called Searl effect generator, the magnets spinning around a central core are all at the same distabce from the core because they all have the same magnetic potential.

I don't know why he would dismiss flat Earth because he can poke it. It's an objective fact that there is a voltage gradient of approximately 120 V/m. If the earth is negatively charged, it means that the further away from earth you get, the less electrons there are. Hence the gradient of voltage. Newtonian's gravity and relativity cannot coexist. This is also an objective fact. Relativity defines gravity as the bending of spacetime. It tells you which direction and object will go but it never explains what is making the object go. Static electricity is an observable force of nature that used to be used in the old zeppelins. The Hindenburg was a hoax. They blew it up on purpose so they could label the technology as dangerous and charge you an arm and a leg to travel and fuel guzzling jets.

You are partially correct sir. Gravity attracts. Thrust repels. So, it's not antigravity in the scifi sense, but in the functional sense, mildly
