that was just the start of their damage. unless labour can return to the centre-ground at least, the right wing Tories will continue to pull the Overton window further towards the extremes. there's very little sensibility left in British politics (and western politics more generally), and we desperately need it back before it becomes our undoing.

@@hayleyxyz they moved to the centre following Corbyn's removal but they've since been leaning further and further right. Starmer is unable to pick a side on social issues, and vows to maintain Tory monetary policy once he gets into office. I appreciate there are many left wing MPs in the party but they're actively having the whip removed for mentioning their left wing opinions. you're right though, in general the Overton window will return to sensibility over time. I worry about the takes on immigration that exist across the political spectrum however, and this likely won't sort itself out for many generations.

Answering your question, Mogg didn't really answer any of the questioners properly (and ironically accused the questioner of waffling). He said that Lewis is an extreme left wing journalist and that GB News is impartial. I'd be interested in where Mogg thinks the centre ground is.
