If you avoided paying £350 owed to the taxman, you could be prosecuted because you can't have people going around costing the country £350 it needs to pay for public services. But if you cost the country 10 million times more than that, not only don't get prosecuted, you can turn up at a prestigious institution and give a speech and be applauded by hundreds of powerful people. This country is insane.

@chatham43 They are clearly pointing out that her policies, which she was advised against enacting by cleverer heads (including Sunak) caused such damage to the citizens of this country, that it amounted to criminal negligence. She can't be put in jail, but she should apologise and not parade herself as a public speaker with a firm grasp of economics.

😊. I read a biography about Shipman. There were warning signs which were ignored. Truss: she was never qualified or fit for cabinet let alone PM - but she led the country for 45 days costing the economy £35 bn.

The banks globally since 2008 have been printing money like no tommorow keeping interest rates artificially low which could never continue for ever. Truss also claims 60% of the expenditure in her mini budget was on energy subsidies on Business and domestic customers. I think she was unfairly treated by those who wanted their WEF puppet and EU collaborator in place.

Doctors, lawyers, accountants, nurses, their professions are regulated by professional people who can suspend them or take away their right to practice. Politicians, however, once they get voted in, there's nobody to vet them. The Privileges Committee, the independent organisation, Mr Speaker, all completely useless (the last Speaker was a a misogynistic bully whom even the government couldn't get rid of!). In the private sector, Truss would have been "let go off" long ago, preferably from a cliff.

Maybe - after 13 years of a clearly impotent Tory government who’ve been clearly unable to do anything because of “the left” - we should just all vote for the left to get something done instead. The more I listen to JOB, the more I like him. He gives people a chance to voice their dissenting opinion when he asks for someone to tell him why they agree with a certain viewpoint. I especially like it when he says I am not going to argue with you, I really want to hear why you believe the way you do. those discussions are enlightening. I don't agree with him all the time, but I find myself going back and researching certain points he makes. Overall, I find him to be trustworthy. Shout out from Maryland, USA.

It's hard not to be impressed by Liz's ability to not feel even the slightest iota of embarrassment, she excels at it even amongst her fellow Tories, a race of beings pathologically incapable of feeling normal human emotions. A person who's sole contribution to Britain was, upon becoming PM, was to try and do "a really big politics" whilst Kwasi Kwarteng stood behind her going "YEAH, YEAH! GO GET'EM MUM" but it didn't work and nearly tanked the nation's economy in the process.
