--------------------------------------------------
Working with mixed media using a variety of different paints. I work rapidly but build up the paintings in layers to make sketches that can be referenced in studio paintings.
Lewis Noble has lived and worked in Derbyshire since 1996. His focus lies in the physical and emotional impact of the landscape on the senses and the effect this experience has on us.
His paintings are not snapshots or photographic frozen moments but through repeated layering and eroding of the painted surface, they contain all of the time it takes to make them.
The result is a body of work that speaks to the heart of what it means to be part of the environment.

I really enjoy watching your process and hearing your thinking. There seems to be something magical about being able to be loose, going with the flow, following your gut feeling, playing...not trying so hard to create something, but letting something evolve that wants to come out. Very inspiring. I love the simple idea of a leaf "stencil" that you spray paint through so loosely and organically. This all feels like a metaphor for life - go with the flow, trust your instincts, stop trying too hard, be playful and loose, let your heart lead you.... Thanks!💝

Very brave of you to show mad painting in progress:). The largest paintings I personaly have ever done ( when I used to paint more) were 7x7 feet. It's a unique experience to work large . I totally get this stage of the process, it almost feels like asking the painting for invitation to enter it's sacred space. It's as much about painting, as it is about receiving.

Lovely connected dark shapes and the almost cruciform design make these very interesting. I like how you bring in images of nature that the viewer can connect with... many people find non objective art hard to look at, without trying to see an image. Great muted colours too. Thanks for sharing. The more I see the Scribbly art online then more I am dragged into doing it🤪

Thank you for sharing your ideas and process of the artworks, really brighten my lockdown time at home! and I really like your style, too. Have saved more videos in my watch list. Just wonder do you always paint on square paper or board ? I'm not good at square shape, find it's very difficult to keep a good balance. I tried some of the tips in my paintings today, very helpful.
