It's easy to find Puma sign but hard to see them. They leave tracks which are unique to them. They leave spore which is usually full of deer hair. Other animals don't eat the hair off the deer but Puma's do. Puma's like to lay at a high spot overlooking an area. They make a slight indentation in the soil. If you search you can find Puma hair which is unique. So maybe you never saw the Puma but you definitely know they are there.

I live in the high mountain desert and, believe it or not, there is one rabbit who appears to be fascinated with me. He will just stop, stare at me and, if I don't move, he will hop closer (pause and repeat; pause and repeat). We have played this 'game' many times, and under different circumstances I'd totally be feeding and petting it. However I show my love and affection for him by NOT encouraging such behavior - as my 100-lb dog would just *love that little snack* ... I guess one could say we are in a 'long-distance relationship' 🐰💞 p.s. Love listening to you both. Wish I could share my Amazonian experiences with you (it's definitely an unpredictable place 💜)

Last week I was driving across eastern Oregon. Nearest gas station was 100 miles away. I was on a 2 lane road in the middle of nowhere when a pronghorn deer crossed the road 100 yards in front me. I was traveling at about 70 mph when I quickly slowed to 10 mph. It stopped and stood in my lane and just looked at me. I went to pass it in the oncoming lane at 10 mph when the thing turned, ran back in front of me and almost got hit. I share this story for 2 reasons. Some animals are really dumb. And it's best to come to a complete stop when you see a deer in the road because they almost act as if they want to get hit.

he‘s always talking about „seeing things“ (like the Tapir the size of a cow). Aren‘t Cameras one of the most important things for conservationists and scientists doing field work?! We want to see it too 🙃

Dude immediately comes out and says JJ’s dad doesn’t make things up and then proceeds to say a Tapir is the size of a cow. 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

Tapirs can grow to around 700 pounds which is about the size of a 200 day old cow calf. So.. ehh yeah you're right.

It coulda been a dexter( around 600lb) or a mini zebu( around 350lb) Since hes all aover the world, his idea of "cow" may be different than a domestic cow in merica or england etc. Bigger is better only works for very large pastures and/or high amounts or completely grain bag fed. Youd need a smaller breed thats good at foraging since supplemental grains likely isnt happening out their in/near the jungle. OR hes just a filthy fuqin liar

Apes, dolphins, elephants, orca, octopus, ravens, crows etc are all extremely intelligent animals. Octopus can solves fairly complex mathematical problems, ravens and crows have regional dialects and a very complex language and social structure. Elephants actually morn their dead and hold ceremonial "burials" for them. Orcas have been obersved very recently coming up completely new ways to hunt their prey. If that isn't intelligence, I don't know what is...Just because we can't communicate with them, doesn't mean they aren't intelligent. If humans weren't around, or didn't evolve the level of intelligence we did, one of those species wphkd have gone on to be the dominant super intelligent species on the planet.
