Well in this Lexus LS 500 ownership video I show you the different accessories that I purchased for my car. They are as follows:

When I first saw the number plate surround I thought it might be a bit tacky. But it looks really great. Really suits the white (pearl? I’m guessing?) colour and the chrome already on the car.

Keep an eye on your valve stem caps. They are PRIME targets for theft 😥

did you have any bubbles in the rear bumper applique after installation? if so did the bubbles dry out?

I don’t recall offhand, if I did they were extremely small. Bigger ones you can squeegee out during installation.

Was your car affected by the fuel pump recall ? If yes , has your dealer sorted it for you and does it improve the smoothness and refinement of the vehicle ?

Yes I had the fuel pump replaced last month. I didn’t notice any changes aside from the pump *may* be a little noisier when you bend down beside the car while it’s running.

InternetDude Oh alright . Our cars having it fixed this week and I was hoping that it would get a little smoother . Ours is a LS500h which is the 3.5 V6 multistage hybrid .

The fuel pump has basically nothing to do with smoothness unless it’s not putting out enough pressure. But it would trigger the check engine light if it was malfunctioning I would think.

InternetDude ah ok . The recall statement from Toyota mentioned that it would either trigger a warning light or not run very smoothly .

what about the white smoke on acceleration and coolant consumption? Sounded ominous😬

The white smoke appears less often now and the coolant level is just fine. I suspect they may have put some stop leak in there but who knows!?

@@InternetDude -- Hopefully that coolant leak is a thing of the past. Could have been a hose that needed tightening. I am sure you will let us know if it comes back. You have to give some feed back on the oil consumption. I believe synthetic oil is a must since this is a turbo charged vehicle.

Has coolant issue been resolved already?

The coolant level has not dropped since the second time it was in the dealer service shop but I do smell coolant at times. I have smelled coolant in the loaner Lexus' so I think the smell is not a concern.

@@InternetDude Weird. Must be some kind of a factory flaw. It would be nice to chech head and intake gaskets, compression, intercooler system and egr cooling system; gust to be shure. Toyota had some manufacturing issues with their new 2.5 L A25A-FKS I4 (new Camry engine), It was prawn to developing tiny cracks due faulty casting on all new equipment; Toyota had fixed this issue later on. So while V35A-FTS is a remarkable and best in it's class engine, since it's all new it might have some hidden flaws. But it's a good thing that at least it stopped drinking the coolant, for whatever reason.

I was told that Lexus wouldn’t pay them to tear into the engine at this point. If it starts losing coolant again I’ll take it in with a empty coolant bottle to make a point, instead of topping it up on my own.

@@InternetDude Yeh, but don't forget that driving with a low coolant is really bad for the car. And I don't see what's the problem that they're having as there are presiders and instruments developed for testing all those things, I was talking about, without any major tear down. Any good mechanic with proper instruments should be able test all these systems with no trouble. If it wasn't for the warranty, i would recommend you finding someone like Scotty Kilmer to test the car properly. But it's a good thing you're still on the warranty though; as if God forbids, this is something serious like the block itself, they will have to pay for it themselves. In any case, I hope that you will find the solution (if necessary), and will enjoy trouble free Lexus ownership for a long time to come. Good luck!

yep. I just checked the coolant again now since the car was sitting overnight and it's totally fine. So case closed I guess. I'm actually kind of sort of thinking about the 2021 LS500H hybrid. They updated the car for '21 with a touchscreen and some other tweaks so really thinking about it...
