In this video I check out the Lexus ES300h hybrid. This was a loaner from the local Lexus dealership service department. I have an interesting perspective because I own an LS 500 which came out in 2018, whereas this redesigned ES came out in 2019, and there are a LOT of similarities between the two cars.
This particular car is a 2020 ES in imminent white pearl exterior with black interior. Would I buy an ES in the future?

my paddleshifters in my 2,3ton Lexus Hybrid are not useless ! They are very useful on a longer downgrade to shift down and use engine/Hybridsystem braking for more recuperation and less brake usage !

I have a 2022 Lexus 300H with the luxury package (Canada!) This being said, I really like this hybrid car! It is great on gas as well as a beautiful ride, and very quiet! Would recommend to anyone looking for these features!👍

Absolutely! I traded my LS500 in for a 2022 ES300h Ultra Luxury in Canada. Love it, wonderful ride, quiet, smooth, etc.

Paddle shift is good for engine braking, kind of trigger the power regeneration, I always use it to slow down.

I now own a 2022 ES300h that I've had for 2 years. I never use the paddle shifters at all. I press the brake pedal slightly to get regen.

Thanks for the comment. I’m a fan of the hybrid system in the car it makes the car so quiet and fuel efficient. With that said, I’ve been driving my Town Car this week. I changed a few parts on it and I’m almost done all repairs it has needed.

Im super conflicted between the LS500 (used) and the ES300H (new). How would you rate the comfort/ride quality of the ES when compared to the LS. I got the LS as a loaner and loved how it made care less about the slow traffic ahead of me. It made me feel so Zen. Not sure if the ES300H would achieve the same.
@InternetDude
@InternetDude Жыл бұрын
The difference is very small in terms of comfort and ride quality. Truly. I think the ES is a much better value, it's like 80% of the LS car but at 50% of the price. I traded my 2018 LS500 in for a new 2022 ES300h. LOVE it, go for the ES hybrid. It's the better buy. The only thing I miss from the LS was the massaging seat. The ES hybrid powertrain is smoother albeit with less overall power. The ES hybrid is very quiet, it does not idle under most circumstances. You get the touchscreen, full warranty, app for your phone, etc. Many benefits to a new ES hybrid. I went for the top spec Ultra Luxury trim that has an extra damper on the suspension to give a smoother ride.

A big and sexy rear wheel drive flagship against a smaller hybrid front wheel drive car with less luxurious interior and materials? No contest. The LS is my favorite full size sedan, in terms of exterior and interior looks.

Well.... I traded my LS500 for a brand new ES300h... they are both ridiculously quiet and comfy. I prefer the ES but I miss the massaging seat from the LS. In my personal opinion the LS is a great highway car but not as good around town (city driving). The ES is great around town and on the highway.

I'm trying to decide between this car (ES 300h) or a Tesla Model 3. Since you have had a tesla and a Lexus, which one would you recommend at the same price (50K)?
@InternetDude
@InternetDude 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rachel, what a coincidence... I don't know if you know but I drove Teslas for over 6 years. I am in the market for a new car and guess what I just ordered? Yup, a 2022 ES300h. I've driven the 3 too but let me tell you the build quality, support, features, value, longevity, ride, premium looks, etc the ES300h wins hands down. There is no comparison. To me the reason to buy a Tesla is for that 0-60 acceleration and to show how cool you are to your friends LOL. For everyday driving and road tripping, the ES is absolutely the better long term car. It rides wonderfully and gets amazing fuel economy for a luxury sedan. Also, for 2022 they have a touchscreen in the ES. I ordered the Ultimate Luxury package with Palamino interior, so I have heated and ventilated seats, auto levelling headlights, etc. Many more features with the ES than a Model 3. I had considered a number of cars before deciding including the 3, BMW, Genesis, and Lexus. If you have more questions on any of those cars let me know because I just went through this myself.

Yes. I traded my LS500 in for a new '22 ES300h hybrid, love it. The ride is really pretty comparable. In some situations the air suspension of the LS was a bit better, but for the majority of day to day driving they are almost identical in ride. I have the Ultra Luxury package.

@InternetDude

I haven’t personally seen the S class but I’m going to say no. Lexus’ strong point is dependability, quality, and resale value. Mercedes tends to beat on luxury, features, tech, etc.

Avalon is going away next year. It’s gotten too close to the ES that Toyota decided to concentrate on the ES. The ES is available worldwide like the Camry but the Avalon is only found in select markets like US/Canada/China. Plus the low sedan sales in the US don’t justify the need for that many sedan models.

@@barbecuetechtips6024 I genuinely feel like tech ruined the interior, they used to engineer visibility, button placement and wrap everything in leather. The LS430 was the absolute pinnacle of all the LS's. Lexus has lost their way with the LS500, tried too hard to compete with the Germans, bumpier ride, more tech (not in a good way either), laggy turbo engine, etc. I hope they make the LS better with the next generation but I don't think that will happen.
