Che meraviglia!

Non importa che la voce non sia piú quella di dieci anni prima, Leyla Gencer rimane sempre impareggiabile, insuperabile e splendida, sopratutto in questo ruolo, che pare essere stato creato apposta, da Donizzetti, per lei. Forse c'é un po' di iniziale incertezza, ma già con Vivi ingrato dimostra tutta la sua splendida voce. Sono profondamente fan di Leyla Gencer, come lo sono di pochissime altre, e ti ringrazio per avere condiviso questa bella registrazione di cotanta classe e bellezza.

This 1974 Cetra studio version is excellent, but nothing will ever replace the 1964 Live. At any rate, that Gencer was one of the very great artists of her time becomes obvious with the first note she sings.

It's a studiorecording from 1974 with Orchestra Sinfonica di Torino, conductor G. Gavazzenni. At that occasion she also recorded "Torna all'ospite tetto… Vieni o tu, che ognor io chiamo"Caterina Cornaro (Donizetti), " O nube che lieve" Maria Stuarda (Donizetti) and " Come'e bello !" Lucrezia Borgia (Donizetti) Fantastic as ever!

Nonostante la voce non sia nelle condizioni di dieci anni prima, resta un'artista straordinaria! Grazie infinite di questo file!

@uyildiz I think this is recorded during a rehersal. I dont know if she had ever recorded anything with such professional equipments.

@ioSonoCallas Yes, the voice sounds a bit old however she is very good at handling the coloratura passages. It made me to think that this beleongs to 1964. I checked the 1964 version and you're right this must be from 1970s. I totally don't know the exact year. I found it on eMule as while looking for her videos and rare mp3s. I've
