Simracing is difficult. Learning how to drive fast takes time, dedication and persistence. Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the best simulations with highly sensitive aerodynamics that want to be respected. Telemetry, such as motec helps with analyzing car behavior and finding major issues in the car setup or driving style. Special sim racing hardware also helps with becoming better, but certainly is not _the_ solution to your problems. Load cell pedals offer better feel. Stronger but most importantly more detailed force feedback of e.g. direct drive wheels offer more immersive sensations. Though I know and I've seen throughout the years, people with entry level hardware perform on top level. Also watch my latest video here: www.tubebuddy.com/quicknav/latest/UC6Au1ToNp8dUGYtxAXER4Tg

Great guide as usual. Did it not for license (I'm already in) but just to generally improve. Shaved off a second in not too many laps. My 50 cents: For the 'not so good drivers' like me I have a bit of a hard time to apply the 'throttle to the bottom' advice. It works occationally for me but I think it is very hard to get it right because if you do not have high speed enough (which is likely when one is 'by definition' slow and often overslowing into the corners), the rear will start spinning (at least this is why I think it happens). Applying the throttle slightly softer cost time but for a license run one need not to be THAT fast and keeping the car on track for the seven laps is more important. As far as I can tell, by hearing the tires scrubbing, it is enough to keep the rotation going but one will lose speed out of the corner. As one gets faster the advice gets more and more easy to follow I think. It is part of the physics of driving that once one can maintain a higher speed, it keeps beeing higher all around the track as there is less descelleration and thus less acceleration and just generally more grip and speed everywhere.

There is that bump at the long left hander before the back straight that I'd hit if I am even slightly off line, and when I run over that bump while trail braking (which is always, because trail brake is the only way to go around that corner fast), I always sbinnala. It is so damn annoying because I basically have to straighten the steering wheel every time I notice that I'm about to go slightly wide and lose like .1-.2 sec, otherwise I'll have to make the car more stable just to handle the bumps better but it is also slower.

always depends on the current record and then 107% rule, so it will be around 1:39 I suppose

1.33.800 is the fastest lap on Zandvoort currently, 107% of it is 1.43.166, LFM says they want 1.40.490 max, so actually 105%, laughable

recording and comparing to yourself is free. but whenever you want to compare to someone else, there's a paywall one way or another. if you want to compare to friends, you need a team (subscription feature) if you want to compare to a pro, you need to buy access to their data

You would win so much more if you weren't handcuffed to that BMW. There are some tracks I just cannot get to grips with. I really can't remember them no matter how many laps I do. Zandvoort is one. This is different from having difficulty on a track because that is down to lack of practice, however, I know them tracks. Just some are so featureless for me I zone out half way round a lap.
