Kick Start My Heart was written by bassist Nikki Sixx, after he did a fatal dose of heroin and he actually was pronounced dead until they gave him a shot of adrenaline straight to his heart to bring him back to life.

TWO shots directly in his heart. Paramedic was a Motley Crue fan

As a retired FDNY Paramedic I will tell you that he was given 2 doses of 1/1000 of Epinephrine via Intracardiac injections into his left ventricle. This procedure was taken out of protocol a long time ago because most paramedics were missing their projected target and puncturing the lung causing more damage. Especially on obese people. You’re supposed to insert the needle into the fourth intercostal space between the ribs. Which would work out perfectly on the average size person. But doing this procedure on an obese person especially in small quarters like the bathroom of someone’s home will almost always present a problem. As a Motley Crue fan I’m glad that paramedic went the extra mile with Sixx. But I’m not sure if that was in protocol in California in 1987. I know it was not part of nyc REMSCO remac. So had this not worked out that paramedic would have opened himself up for multiple lawsuits and probably termination of his employment and possible sanction of his certification. But like I said I’m only speaking from a NYC paramedic. Whoever that paramedic is I know I speak for a lot of people when I saw THANK YOU 🙏. Sixx is the most talented member of Motley Crue the first 4 albums of Crue are amazing and Sixx as an amazing song writer.

Its not autotune. Its a device that hooks up to your mic and your guitar amp, which combines your voice and your guitar into one instrument, creating the effect of making your guitar sound like it is talking. It was very popular in the 70s and 80s.

This song is pure adrenaline and testosterone. My uber-religious parents actually played this for my brother at his surprise 16th birthday party--they actually rented a strobe light and when he opened the door, this song started and it was NEXT-LEVEL thriling. He got tickets for his birthday to see them in concert like 6 weeks later on this (the Dr. Feelgood) tour. I was JEALOUS as HELL. :)

Saw them in concert in 2013. The same night I also saw Kiss and Thin Lizzy. 3 of the worlds greatest rock bands in one night. Incredible. The truly crazy part of the night was when Motley had to end the show early because Vince Neil had to be rushed to hospital because he was in excruciating pain from kidney stones and shortly thereafter underwent surgery to have them removed. I've been to many live concerts but that night was one I'll never forget.

@@Blondebombshell87 I'm sure those bands are great and definitely not putting anybody down. It was just a different time. Beyond just the music, there was much more freedom. Nobody snapping cell pics or tweeting your latest antics to the world. People talked face to face. We had atari video games but they didn't keep us inside long. Was something to do on a rainy day for a little bit. The whole environment had a different, less stressful feel then.

I love rap. I also love the Crue. You can do both. My two favorite musical memories are seeing the Crue play this in person, and being at Darien Lake in 1990 to see Tesla play Heaven's Trail. There is a lyric in that song that refers to it starting to rain. As they started playing the song, the clouds opened up and dropped about 3 inches of rain, lightning and thunder (it was an outdoor concert). Talk about special effects! And not one single person sought safety. We all just stood there captivated. Ah to be 20 again!
