Heat the glue up more and the back cover is much easier to remove than shown in this video. It is the battery which gave me the most trouble. Slow and gentle. Use multiple pry tools to spread the force and reduce the potential for damage.

OMG! This is a fckin surgery! Fortunately I have an LG G5 with 6 spare batteries and cat replace one in a few seconds!

This is insane. I replaced a battery on my mom's LG G5 and it took about 30 seconds. Going to be a lot more complicated for my G7. They probably want you to just buy a new phone instead.

@@burf4963 Yeah I have loved my G5 for years for that and other reasons, but I travel a lot in rural areas and just realized I can't pick up a lot of cell towers using the new band 71 and also band 66. The adhesive makes the phone water resistant, bonus, and it also has wireless charging so I am looking at the G7 Thinq, no reason until now to give up my G5. Used ones sell for not a lot more than G5s.

I just got a new LG Q70. My old LG Stylo2 started giving us trouble. It was a 3G phone. 3G phones are going dead in about a year on the Verizon Net and probably the AT&T net too. What is that liquid he is putting on that guitar pick?

Be very gentle when taking the back plate off. I broke mine putting too much force into removing it. I still got it changes and fortunately working. Just have a cracked back face now.

ola se a bateria compatível você ver que funciona bem e não causa problemas e ficar carregada um dia pode continuar funcionando, se a bateria não for original você não tem a mesma duração, por exemplo a bateria original tem uma vida útil mais longa cerca de 4 anos, em vez de compatível, tem uma vida útil de cerca de 2 anos depois, incha ou não mantém a carga

Yikes, what a replacement, what sadist designed this phone? With all the delicate art and connectors I'd say it's 50/50 doing this replacement without damaging the phone

@@goxy287 Ya every phone is like this now so people are right to be cautious to attempt a DIY to replace the battery yourself you could end up with a broken phone. It might be worth paying a specialty place to do this for you if you plan on keeping the phone another 2 years or something.

it is a sad state of affairs that phone makers now make battery replacement very difficult now.

@@H_o_g_a_n yeah, they inrwtentionally make it risky difficult like that so I wont bother and just have to go buy another phone every year or two (the span of battery life for all new smart phones now it seems.) This is jus bad.

My LG G7 started having a defective battery after year 3 and so drained faster. After I allowed it to go dead for the 1st time it jus wont charge to turn on. Lost all my stuff on it. Happened with my Samsung before I got this one. I wont buy another flagship and instead will jus gst any decent one with a removable battery pack. Cellular Manufacturers are doing this on purpose and it's obviously intended to rip your wallet. Shame on them!

my lg g7 is doing 4 hours of screen, is this time normal? I use an app that shows the health of the battery and is saying that my battery has 2470mah of healthy battery, but I don’t know if I should believe this app, I play pubg and the phone gets too hot while playing, I wonder if the LG G7 of you that's how it is too! thanks, should i change the battery?

My lgg7s battery is pretty bad too... I would barely use it the entire day and the battery would just drop

Yes you damaged your battery. Heavy gaming and HEAT will kill a battery and I would believe the app, if it's accubattery it's fairly accurate.

You would need to reapply adhesive around the phone for it to be water-resistant again

@@vokincho Battery adhesive, you should place a small amount underneath the battery and place it back in the phone. The thin adhesive tape should go around the phone's frame, so when you place the back cover on it will stick and stay in place.

I don’t think it will work with a blow dryer, instead try to use the iron.

use a clothing iron and set it on the lowest setting and dial the heat up till its hot to the touch but not burn you

Did it work before with the old battery? Try to replace with an original battery or try with another charging connector.

If you don't use a strong enough adhesive to re-seal it then yes.
