It's not faster than an iphone(or even a OnePlus) but it's very smooth. LG have certainly done a very good job with the interface. They've also made their software more gamer friendly. Apart from its appeal to audiophiles, LG also do a really good job with the shape and size of their devices. I still think that the form factor they do is consistently the best in the market. I do agree that LG are terrible at marketing and struggle because of it. But they also need to work on their update policies. They are worse at updates than anyone else.

The phone is not flashy... I saw a video with MKBHD saying this phone is just not exciting and a lot of other insignificant crap calling everything a gimmick. I unsubbed immediately. Also, I can't stand youtubers complaining about the mono/stereo speaker not being loud enough or bassy enough. It's a tiny phone speaker... and then they flex their very expensive headphones they got for free from DROP knowing very well there is no way to connect them and drive them from their super expensive phones that don't even have 3.5 mm jack anymore because of "COURAGE"!. The only phone that pretty much checks all the boxes for me is LG G8S, at least on paper. I am currently stuck with another way worse phone from Huawei.

@@HipsterHunter2067 The hardware must be better but the thing with Iphone is that developers make apps for IPhone faster. If the apps are not optimized then Apple won't let them to publish the apps on store. That's usually where IPhone gets its speed from.

My first was the G2. I have the 50. It's a beast.

Been using my G5 for 3 years now. Excellent build quality - no complaints there. I can't remember the number of times I've dropped it 😌 Sadly, camera quality deteriorated after an update.

I am also using G4 since 3 years now and pretty satisfied with the build quality and durability. The camera quality dropped significantly though and is the main reason I am considering buying a new phone. Do you guys think its a better deal compared to the S10 if we took the money value in calculation? its 250 euros cheaper than the s10

@@macdias6446 The G7 is much more popular than Q7. Like several times i typed in "cases for LG Q7" and it showed for many models exept Q7. It had G7, ThinQ, and even Q6 but not Q7.

My wife bought me and my son LG G8 ThinQ's when they were on sale buy 1 get 1. I've only owned the phone 2 weeks, and it's literally falling apart and I haven't dropped it a single time. It's easily the Most fragile phone I've ever owned. Why would they make both the front and back glass? It's so slippery, it slides off of flat surfaces. Desks, Night Stands, Tables, everything I set it down on. I'm constantly grabbing it just as it's about to slide off a table or desk. I ordered a cover on ebay and in the week I waited for the delivery, the entire phone is completely shattered and ruined. It's a good phone. But I've only owned it 2 weeks and its falling apart. The screen is broken, the back is broken, the screen is chipped. It's horrible. You can't even breathe on it without one of the glass surfaces shattering. I love the function of the phone. But in 2 weeks it's almost completely destroyed, and I haven't even dropped it. My last 2 phones were Samsungs, and I've literally dropped then hundreds of times on Cement, Tile, the kitchen floor, etc. and there's not a single scratch on them. I've had them for years and years, and when I peel the tempered glass off, the Samsung phones still look like the day I bought them. Within a week, the LG G8's rear Glass panel was shattered, and I don't even know how it happened. I carry the phone in my front pocket and have never dropped it or sat on it. The front glass is broken at the top, and in the middle of the screen it's gouged, like there are chips out of it. And again, I don't even know how it happened. I've never even dropped the phone yet. I'm very careful with it. Why did they make the whole thing glass, and if they were going to make it glass, why didn't they use gorilla glass like on my old galaxy. That phone has been to hell and back, and there isn't even a scratch on it anywhere. WTF LG. I like the phone other than it looks like it was smashed with a hammer after only a week of gentle use.

@@Vampybattie As far as i know no, it will not launch in the US. The standard LG G8 is launched only in North America and South Korea while the rest of the world will get the LG G8S instead.

You want a smaller s10e or larger phone G8s , for filming i like s10 better (ps i still have the g6 too ) , if your like me maybe the V40 or V50 might be better too get with true audio-dac and better camaras (not so over saturated like models before) but budget wise the G8s is the best

Hey man, hello. I would like to ask you something if you dont mind since you have the G8s. I know that the LG gives the option to hide the notch. How effective is it? Are the blacks on this phone deep enough to hide the notch sufficiently?

@@stratvar Yes, this can be eliminated in settings, but watching KZfaq videos as you zoom in sees the notch
