Gayle, love the way you have your fabrics organized. Sorting the materials by size and color really can help. Yep I agree, every little piece can be used. I do hate throwing away anything. Because you know when you get rid of it, that is when you are going to need it. Thank you.

Thank you for organizing on camera with us, this is very helpful. Those big divided bins from Joanne's are perfect for this project. I have my fabrics organized by size and by color (among the bigger pieces). The really big fabric pieces or special things, like embroidered linens & quilt pieces, are in a separate plastic tub. Christmas has a tub of its own. It's nice to know where to find exactly what you want to use. 🥰 ~Marci

This was fun to see. I recently organized my fabric scraps...some by size, some by coordinated fat quarter sets, some by theme or planned project, and some odds and ends like batting or seam binding. I had them originally in see through plastic containers with lids but decided to pull the project ones, put them in a basket closer to my work space where I can see them and begin to work on them when I have time. It helped to see what I have again and coordinate some into the project bin so they are not out of sight/out of mind.

This is very helpful and inspirational to me. I've been gathering all of my fabrics from different spots around the house and the next step is to do just what you're doing. There are so many different ways to separate fabrics and I feel like I've tried them all. These boxes you have are great because you can see the fabrics to use...this may have to be my next try. : )

An idea for your "Little Golden Book" LGB fabric is to use it in some vintage farmhouse journals... Think of them like feedsack fabrics, use small bits with white or cream. I like to die cut into hexies, hexagons and glue down the side of spines and pages. Just an idea so you can use them. ❤️ Kate

Just as you were pushed along a little bit to do this job you have no encouraged me to go to my my scrap fabric that that once was organized and now it's not. I also now have the courage to make them be a decent size and cut off little pieces here and there that are no good and put them in my teeny tiny scrapbox. This is been very helpful I don't have as much traffic as you do but I have plenty that needs to be organized. I haven't been doing this for a year yet I already have realized that part of the work of doing junk journals is constantly reorganizing to looking for a better way to handle things. It's our way of life junk Journal

Awesome job, Gayle! I was so curious to see how you were going to sort your fabrics. I thought, by size? What a great idea! and then I realized that is what I do, too. I also sort by fabric type which you did some of as well. Sorting by size is great because if you start with the smallest pieces you need for a project, you can use up more scraps. You have shown us how to make those great snippet rolls - time for you to get busy with that little wire basket of scraps you set aside! Fabric is my favorite medium but watching you has brought out the paper crafter in me. After all, isn't that what we all started with? Paper, crayons, scissors, and paste? You are too fun and I enjoy you and adore you. Keep warm! ☀Andrea in Oregon

Hi Gayle! Great video! Wow! There are a lot of people participating in this "Let's Get Organized" Collaboration! It is a lot to take in, but I'm interested in seeing how everyone deals with their storage issues. You did an awesome job organizing all of those fabrics into your cool new storage boxes! It has to be hard to "let go" of some of your stash, but you are doing it! Good job! WOW again!! I love seeing all of your beautiful fabrics! You have such a nice, well balanced stash!! I hope you do decide to list some fabric bundles in your Etsy shop, because I would be very interested in purchasing some of those from you! Will you make an announcement on your channel when you have the fabric bundles ready and available in your shop? I have just started slow stitching so I am looking to start a nice fabric stash for myself, as I don't really have any to speak of at this point. Your bundles would be a great place for me to start collecting my own lovely fabric stash! Thank you very much for the great video & inspiration Gayle! You are great Gayle!! TFS Happy Creating! Samantha P.S. Hi there!! That hi is for your sweet guy, Mike! He should be very proud of you & all of your de-stashing and organizing!

I already listed a bunch, but have received more from my retreat. If you favorite my Etsy shop and turn on notifications, you will know when I list things. 👍❤️

OK Gayle you are an enabler. I had to go to Joannes and buy one of those plastic containers for my fabrics. Ha ha. I can’t wait till they look all nice and neat like yours. Thanks so much hugs back at ya.
