Seeing the gamerdad moments are very nostalgic, my kid is turning 2 at the 22nd of may, but while I was playing casual RTS games when she was a baby I'd just use the mouse and with my left hand I'd rock the baby chair lol

I had a question on the burn in prevention built in settings, is there specific instructions that tell you when to use the settings and how often to use them or do you use them when you feel is right?

Great review, and thanks for bringing that dock to my attention! Consider getting a monitor desk arm for the monitor, it will save you up a bit of space under the monitor and will also allow you to rotate the screen much better if you choose the right one, I think a pneumatic model would be perfect for you if you mount it fully extended to the side.

I have it and I love it. Unfortunately, it came with a small scratch/crack on the screen. Gonna have to return to Best Buy. As always, love the vids, man. I dig the informal style, kinda like a friend of mine is telling me about it rather than something I can get from a quick Google search.

@@joaquinarchivaldoguzmanloe1073 I returned the alienware for the MSI, it was missing too many features. between This and ROG, I personally rather have LG with the pixel sound + dual mode since I don't really care between WOLED and QDOLED. That said, my personal toss up is between the Gigabyte and LG. My FO32U2P arrived yesterday! so I'm gonna test it out

Gaming as a dad for a newborn x2 over its nice seeing how others deal with it. Can completely relate to thinking about gaming and following news than actually gaming. I actually switched to mobile gaming for several years but now that the kids are toddlers/preschool I’ve been able to get back into real PC/console gaming again.

Good luck, I’m 9 months into being a first time dad and as much as I want this monitor the Steam Deck is the most used gaming device for me for the foreseeable future. Hopefully they go down in price a bit later on but I’m sold on it.

@@MinimalisTech the great thing about the Steam Deck is the app called Chiaki 4 Deck which will let you stream your PS5 in HDR even which looks fantastic on the Deck OLED. So not to try and pour more fuel on your wallet to light that up haha.

Hard one to say. I can't figure out why by I still play better at 1440p. I popped OFF gaming on the 1440p 360hz gigabyte. That said if I only had to pick one of the gigabytes. I'd still go with the FO32U2P since it's just as so many features and works better for stuff outside of gaming. Mine arrived yesterday so I'm gonna review it soon. might even compare the LG and the Gigabyte cheers.

Great video! As a dad myself, I have been there when my daughter was a newborn. How is the HDR performance for ps5? I have noticed there are less settings to adjust when hooked up to a console, it just it what it is

I feel you dude! Dad life makes gaming a bit tough. being completely 100% honest, and I don't know why. I find the PS5 does a better job at most HDR everything compared to my Mac or PC. Really not sure why. For ease of use I find I jump to my PS5 for Netflix and KZfaq more frequently. Cheers!

This monitor seems perfect (design, speakers) except the matte finish.. is picture quality really worse as compared to a glossy finish? Current monitor is curved Samsung Neo g8 and tv is LG C2(which I love).

For me I really notice the motion resolution of higher refresh rates, however I don't play competitively. So the 480hz more is more me hoping NVIDIA offers a double frame frame gen for the 5xxx series. I would be willing to sacrifice 4k resolution in a number of titles to get that blur free motion.

frame gen etc. is a no-no for fast paste multiplayer tho. It introduces additional computation and lag to the system.

I got this last week and I love the monitor. The only issue I came across similar to other users is the HDR is clipping at 603 nits peak brightness even though it’s advertised as 1300 nits for peak brightness. I’m hoping LG releases a firmware update to fix this issue because otherwise it’s a fantastic monitor.

With instrument measurements the peak brightness is correct so it’s a weird quirk they need some software to list the nits correctly.

How did you connect your speakers to this monitor? I mean which cable and ports are you using? Because i wanna buy this monitor, but i think the only way to connect external speakers ist the 3.5mm hub on the bottom of the monitor. But if i using this hub, I can‘t hide the cable. Sidenote: I dont want to use the pixel speakers built in this monitor.

Unfortunately there’s no way to hide the cable! I’ve heard there are tiiiiiny 3.5mm right angle cables that can make it less noticeable, but otherwise it’ll still just stick out from the bottom.

the text looks great on it. the brightness was a bit lower than i would like compared to the qdoleds. great image though, i returned mine on concerns with the warranty as well.

I spoke with customer service, the manufacturer’s warranty and the lg premium care both cover burn in.

@@meredithgordon4101 I will prefer ips panel as compared to OLED, as OLED has burn in issues and custom heat sink is also not 🚫 available, if we are buying costly monitor so we expect atleast 5 years working efficiency.

None. But i have this with certain thunderbolt docks where very few others will. Apparently some people like myself are sensitive to high pitch frequencies on certain tech items. Hence certain docks I can’t use :(. They drive me nuts. Not saying it’s happening to you but just a thought. I figured I was going crazy till I did some research haha

It's available to order now on LG Netherlands site with delivery within 2-3 days. It's also available to pre-order on Scan UK with delivery from late June. Sweden & Finland LG sites have also just made it available to pre-order with delivery from 13th May. Hopefully it will be available across all of Europe soon. This monitor looks incredible.

Whats the point of 4K 240hz when no GPU of the current gen (and probably even next gen) can't give you 200+ fps on the the vast majority of titles released in the last 5 years. Most recent AAA titles you'd be lucky to get 100fps even with a 4090 at 4K
