nice to see some of those cars hold back and give you plenty of room after meeting those other trucks, we don't see enough of that type of patience on the roads lately so its good to see

Drove up and down that road for twenty years as an hgv driver, always a nightmare 🤦♂️well done brother 👍
@jamesscullion3162Ай бұрын
Yep... its fun with a 68ft waggon & drag full loaded with straw & worse with the floats on - when you meet someone else in a biggun you might stop quick but the cattle dont 😮

Great video again. This road is bad enough in a car when an HGV comes along let alone also being in an HGV. Great driving by you and the other lorry drivers..

Worst road in Scotland for driving hgv especially with loggers taking no prisoners. Meeting coaches another nightmare with their mirrors. Thank eff I've retired.
@jagracershoestring609Ай бұрын
I remember taking my Triumph Sidecar outfit along that road in 1968, it was narrower then, but lorries were few and far between in those days. Good job your meeting was slow enough to stop to plan a passing effort.

Don’t envy you having to drive an artic down that road. It’s crazy tight in sections. As you say, all you can do is go steady, anticipate and hope you don’t meet another wagon on the wrong place. Caravans must be hair raising.
@aquanick2001Ай бұрын
Absolutely true, it’s Sod’s Law when driving a heavy, if you’re gonna meet one coming the other way it’s always on the worst bit 😅

Been there, done that fella 🚛🚚 the loggers 🤪

Been that road many times, must be a nightmare for HGVs using it regularly. You drive expecting something big to come around every corner, and expect the unexpected. Keeps you safe.
@user-ig1xo3om2xАй бұрын
1:00 - Haven't actually done that, but I have been immediately behind 2 wagons doing that on that stretch, pretty regularly.

I live just down from that road its not great for hgvs at all. You guys do a great job of it every day.

Looks like the road alongside Loch Lomond. Been along there a few times

That Coleford Gloucester road up the hill can be tight with opposite heavys approaching each other 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Such a great, relaxed mentality you have. If only most other road users had your road sense and attitude. Since Covid struck, I've found people's behaviour has become so entitled, impatient and straight up rude and lacking in sense and logic.

Need to be mindful tho 😂😂😂😂😂😂

That Loch Lomond section of the A82 is disgraceful for a major trunk road, the second main north/south to the highlands. All the money goes to the A9, while the A82 isn't fit for modern traffic thanks to the Scottish Government.
@hugoagogo9435Ай бұрын
They’ve blown all the money on rest and be thankful. What a dripping roast that’s been for those who’ve benefited
@mrbramley2940Ай бұрын
Wasn't aware the Scottish Government made HGV bigger and wider 😂
@chrisst8922Ай бұрын
Best thing to do, when it's tight, just get it up to around 60 and the wagon will suck itself thinner and you'll be through no probs.
@recall2880Ай бұрын
Yep always works with it fail. It’s called the law of physics at 60mph by JR Hartley. Interesting read. My wife read it and she can now suck her way through anything.

Hello truck driver. There are plans to upgrade the a82 from the west of scotland to the highland capital inverness. It is long overdue.

It's the worst road in the world for a lorry/coach, never fancied taking my lorry up there, it does open up so far up but it's horrible

Because that's a longer way to were I was going. Via Loch Lomond is the shortest route

@@ChattingWithMeHGVThe horrible section isn’t that long either? Bit of a roll of the dice isn’t it?
