As a lifelong Oasis fan, I have to say that the terrible infighting and accusing each other of lying has destroyed the band. Noel has kept the band together and gets the flak most of the time. He was assumed the role of managing the band because he had the head for it.

I can see both sides to this argument and I think both sides helped to make the band what it was. Noel doing interviews whiteout worrying if the magazine had slagged him off was good business. Liams more punk attitude of fuck anyone who says owt bad about the band was rock n roll. All great, successful bands master that two headed beast and ride it for all it’s worth. Who could blame them?

Liam showed very little respect for Oasis while he was in it. The MTV gig was the most well known and since it was going to be a bit of a big deal, it was Liam showing how unprofessional he can be.

The reality is that Liam had a valid point here because he is right, if the NME slagged the record off, dont then agree to be on the cover the following week, Liam was unable to articulate his point here properly and escalated with no maturity which then got Noels back up.

Vacuum Boots very obvious that back in the 90’s Noel loved to seem like the smart and sensible one and made liam out to be a drunken, irresponsible idiot. I think that since oasis had a change in members, liam also (kind of) changed and started be more interested in being an artist (hence the songwriting and understanding of the business in which he was part of) other than being just a ‘singer in a band’.

@ianhitman I remember in the 90's Liam doing a cover for Rolling Stone...and they are ALWAYS dismissive or luke warm about Oasis even back then. Where was Liam's respect for the bamd then? Cover features on reputable magazines are valuable. Not everyone gets them. If a magazine gives you a chance to say your piece and promote your album why the hell shouldn't you take it? If Noel didn't do promo with anyone that ever slagged off Oasis he would barely do any press at all.

@onlyeye1 Sure, Noel was the driving force whatever, but he's not there now is he? Liam is with Gem and Andy and they have their own driving force. Just as the Rain had it's driving force. Because Liam is his own musician. You don't need a former roadie to tell you to practice. It was Noel's experience Liam wanted to share because the Rain didn't knew how to improve or what steps to make. Yes Noel's songs were brilliant but even Noel himself couldn't picture the success.

I don't think you make any sense. Noel has written a few poor Oasis songs but the rest of band haven't because they didn't write as much. Bring Songbird and Turn Up The Sun that list and you'll find Noel didn't wrote them.

I've read and watched many of Noel's interviews it really fucking pisses me off like how he'd talk shit about his own music constantly licking ass with the media. He would say anything to make himself looks great. The amount of shit BHN received from him is just ridiculous. I totally agree with Liam here.
