I think it was Liam dunster who gave me the inspiration to play better and slow right down. I’m telling you it’s medicine to an autistic person who suffers from stress, pressure and anxiety way too easily and much! You don’t have to play fast to be a good pool player. It’s like that quality over quantity mentality.

newer cloths tend to slide in a bit off the knuckles, give it a week of play and the table would be far less generous

That 10th frame was a little scrappy by their standards. I'm a massive fan of Gareth Potts so I'm glad he won. And I'm totally with Mick Hill on the shot clock but I do think it's necessary. I think 15 seconds is a bit too tight but some players could make the game unwatchable on tv if it wasn't for a shot clock.

Micks commentry is very good. If some don't like it just turn the volume down. Keep up the good work lads. On the 15 second shot clock. I personally don't like it. I think it takes away from the game. Your basically playing off instinct at that point and if the balls are messy then your just going to see mistake after mistake.

Match clock is a stupid concept really. The only reason they put it in originally was to guarentee a match fitting into half an hour for Freesports. Does make for some cool highlights videos of guys running around the table from time to time I guess.

question, frame 7, is that a foul break? not enough balls coming up above the centre line? we've not got to these rules yet in Australia in our league, hopefully next year.
@IOM777
@IOM777 Жыл бұрын
legal breaks are determined by the 3 point rule, one point for each ball past the middle of the table and a point for a ball pocketed. 3 balls went past the middle from the break in frame 7

Drawing the CB on the break simply loses forward energy, nothing to do with "dwell time" which is not possible to change and is extremely short.

Some players will spend what seems an eternity weighing up shots so I understand the need for a 'shot' clock, but Mick Hill was correct here. Interesting matches between fantastic players are being forsaken for tv production. Anyone who plays or watches pool regularly will know an opponent can reverse a two, three frame defecit in a race to 5, 7, 11, 21 and so on and this exciting drama is being abandoned to fit a tv time slot.
@BAD3GG
@BAD3GG Жыл бұрын
The TV time slot is the entire reason there's now money in the game though, without that, pool isn't really a marketable sport.
@CeeDeeDickinson

@@BAD3GG Terrestrial tv is old school. We are in the age of Live streaming to smartphones, tablets and computers and those in media and marketing know it. This is Viaplay "Watch how you want - stream on your mobile, tablet, computer, smart TV or games console" Go watch Matt Steeper v Gareth Higgins, or Pete Fisher v Gareth Higgins. Although the 30 second shot timer is fine...even dropping to 15 seconds later but something really needs to be done about these global time limits..totally un-needed it just allows for cheesy below the belt stall tactics for the player ahead and no chance for a dramatic comeback for the losing player..ruins it
