I think they were referring to his stance on stage, hands behind the back, usually facing upward. If I recall, in an old interview, he said it allowed him to project more.

@@TiGabr I'm not saying Noel is a bad performer but come on. When you hear Slide Away, you don't hear Noel singing. When you hear Talk Tonight, you don't hear Liam singing. And you know why? Just read my comment again: Liam made that songs what they are and I'm talking about the songs that Liam actually sings. It's widely known that Talk Tonight and Little By Little (even Don't Look Back in Anger) are know because Noel sings them but when you hear Live Forever, Rock n Roll Star, Stand By Me and WONDERWALL, you are hearing Liam and no one else.

Hes mellowed in his old age still an ego maniac but love his work and talent. He was too young i think when it all started. Now he appreciates it more. I grew up with his music. Gonna live forever and wonderwall is the soundtrack to my life. I like his attitude of giving zero fs of what people think of you. Hes truly one of the greatest music frontman of all time
