Even when he was in the band, his Wolverhampton accent dropped a lot and it became a mashup of everyone's accents. I guess he just picks up on regional dialect and accents more than the average person

I'm not a celebrity, but I've lived for about 9 years each in New York, Paris and Rome . . . I was born in Boston and left there at 16. My accent changes according to where I've living and even who I'm talking to. I've never made any conscious effort to change it, it just happens, but many people think I'm putting it on.

i really don't think his accent or dialect has changed. he seems to just be talking faster/sloppier. like,, idk he's not as articulate as he was back in 1D. also i don't think his personality has changed as much as people say he has. ive been a huge fan of 1D since almost the beginning. he seems the same. maybe a bit more idk hyperactive. but still the same friendly, polite, funny Liam

jesus he was a lot in the USA it's normal that the accent change. if someone from example move from Manchester to London their accent change as well so obvious if he move from London to LA even if for only a couple of months accent change its normal don't overreact it

this kinda happens to me with region dialects in my country. i adapt to the dialect im surrounded by or one that i hear a lot. ive watched this girls youtube videos who lvies way up north so she speaks differently than people in my home town and ive adapted some weird words. he spends a lot of time in la so he could easily adapt that, i bet when hes home with cheryl his british accent comes stronger etc.

I have that problem when I watch a TV show with people who have a different accent for too long. For example I watched all the seasons, which is five, of Friday Night Lights in three days and I started speaking with a Texas accent. I actually couldn't turn it off. Now when I say Texas it tries to turn itself on again, and I have to try really hard not to do it.

Ok. It's perfectly normal that your accent changes. I lived in Ireland for 5 years and I developed an Irish accent. If you're around people who talk differently than you then you just pick up their way of talking. You're just adjusting to the environment.

What's an American accent? Because when you ask someone to do it they go directly for the California type of speaking. But if you go to Florida it's different, if you go to New York is different. So I just think he lost it just because he has been in the studio for hours and days working with people who don't speak British and that's why.

idk if it’s necessarily gone while he’s speaking bc wolverhampton accents aren’t super strong in the first place, but when he’s singing omg it’s completely gone! although in the x factor his accent was a bit stronger - it’s kinda hard to understand him even tho i can understand him now. plus it’s easy to lose his accent when he’s around american songwriters and londoners all the time so that explains it. like when I watch too many one direction videos I end up using british grammar and stuff 😂

out of the boys, i always really liked harry’s and liam’s accents, they were always so pleasing to the ear,, but i do agree liam’s lost his west-midlands accent (or it’s become more toned-down to say the least)
