Libby Montana is home to just under 3,000 residents as of the 2020 census making it a top destination on my small Montana towns list. For those seeking, as the Libby, MT chamber website puts it "no gates, no fees, no crowds" this might just be the perfect place to call home. So, join me on this walking tour of Mineral Avenue in the downtown area of Libby Montana.

My mom owned the for rent property at 14.13 and we lived in the house by what used to a the Bonanza dime store. The property she owned was her successful Lighthouse studio which closed sometime in the 80s or 90s long after we left which was in 1979.

This town is very old fashion and oldschool in its ways. So i wouldnt excpect the same stuff youd be used to in cali or washington and we take our freedoms very very seriously and love that this place is the "last best place" and we wil always do everything within our power as a community to keep it that way. the majority of us who've lived here for more than 10+ years. Dont want our freedoms to be judged or altered in any way. We all welcome everyone to our community with open arms as anybody should but we also dont really play around with the political issues of the main world we like tovkeep that stuff for the bigger cities like missoula,kallispel and thus foward.the only bad part of livby is when the parking changed on the gut from normalcside parking to slanted out in the road. It makes it hard to look for pedestrians and it makes the cross street drivers more sesceptable to pulling out when its not clear to cross. Hopefully that goes back to the way it used to. Its alot safer

Yes, they have made great strides regarding the asbestos but such a tragedy. cumulis.epa.gov/supercpad/SiteProfiles/index.cfm?fuseaction=second.cleanup&id=0801744 As far as shopping goes, it's difficult to find anything comparable to what one would have in other states but I am thankful for our online options now. ;)

Not any people to see. Strange. If you walk in a city in Norway there are people walking everywhere. Not like a ghost town like this. And I see this all over the USA. Why is that? Are these towns dying ? Sad to see.
@RadiantRealty
@RadiantRealty 2 ай бұрын
Well, this is a fairly small town so unless there were an event or activity you probably won't see too many people milling about. Also with Montana weather, most people stay in their cars as much as possible. But, the US is very different from other countries as you mentioned. We drive almost everywhere and don't walk nearly enough. Things are more spread out.

Yeah, week before last they had a big car show (Ignite the Nites). Really cool to check out and all but it does get frustrating when they close down Mineral every time there is an event downtown and you have business, I guess you just get use to it. Ditto on the Tempur Pedic, Love mine! Unfortunately I am in the middle of building my cabin way up in the mountains so right now it's nothing more than sleeping bags and camp pads for me ugh 😉. Regarding the place with the purple car... I've been walking by there for years now and have never seen it open lol, not sure what the dealio is there
@RadiantRealty
@RadiantRealty Жыл бұрын
Oh nice, looked like a great show. How often do they close off Mineral Ave for events? Oh man, I don’t know how many nights I could do the camp pads, haha. My back would be killing me. It will be worth it in the end though. Are you building it yourself?
@thecordlesscarpenter7956
@thecordlesscarpenter7956 Жыл бұрын
@@RadiantRealty They block off Mineral for lots of the events the city hosts, this coming weekend is the big chainsaw carving event with competitors from all around the world. And they will be doing the actual carving right in the middle of the street lol, "so everyone can see the action". You would think they would use one of the parks in town but I would like to think the city officials have already considered all the other options. As far as the cabin build goes, yes, building it myself... all by my lonesome, well, until I meet the right woman anyways. I'll have to bug out this winter due to logistical reasons (ridiculous amounts of snow up at my place and can't build) but I'll be back in the spring to finish it up and will live there year round while building the barn, real house and everything else. It's been one heck of an adventure so far and the journey has just begun really. Thanks for what you do, it really helps me keep a finger on the pulse of the region's real estate as well as opens my eyes to a few places of interest in other cities. I just visited Kalispell for the first time this past week as a matter of fact 😃
