@@Deridus no. Sometimes they have the option to trap demons in tesseract labyrinths but the physical form of a demon can always be destroyed and banished back to the warp. That’s usually what happens when demons are “killed”

I mean I’ve pretty much had my suspicions confirmed by the video before this. The mention openly of the interview with ex thousand sons sorcerer which ended with his ‘arrest’ by the inquisition. To speak of it openly confirms the arrest was a way to end the interview in a believable way for the sorcerer across the table. The inquisiton seem to view the oculus as a asset now and one worth preserving as long as he retains his sanity and loyalty. The oculus is actually safeguard by his mixture of knowledge cynicism and loyalty. He views the entire galaxy as damned with neither imperium or or chaos worthy. But the former is far better than the latter.

@@Wulgreath exactly, the arrest was as part of the act and was probably pre-planned. Although to make it realistic the inquisitor didn’t say how she would arrest him so he’d be genuinely surprised.

My girlfriend walked in around the 28 minute mark. She thought I was listening to a reading of The Book of Revelation. 😂 You're the best 40k lore channel out there. I love everything you do, the in universe narration, the atmosphere, the seriousness of your presentation. It's great to see the lore treated with respect instead of the usual eye rolling shallow memery. Thank you Oculus.

My man that opening is the single most metal shit I have ever heard Two shout outs: That one Khorne Berserker who charged Guilliman while everyone else stood stunned Kharn when he lopped off an unruly berserker's head during a charge, and then kicked the head into their charge target's line so the poor head could enjoy the slaughter up close

Deeper chaos lore is cool. Khorne especially is oversimplified often so it’s refreshing to here about the mythos in this vid. Makes it seem more ancient and Evil rather than the generic villains chaos factions are often presented as

This, for me, is the worst part of the Black Templar retcon in 6th Edition, because changing them from arguably the most atheistic of Astartes to slavering Empy worshipping whiners tossed 90% of the lore that made them great into TemplOrks that was purely an artifact of a tactic from the 4th Edition rules IIRC.

@@johnd2058 look up the Illuminati on Lexicanum for it's old lore version or The exorcist chapter for a more modern equivalent of it though they never outright call it illumination it's almost the same process that process being getting possessed by a demon and then forcing it out with one's own will that said in newer lore it seems to be simply increased resistance rather than immunity to corruption Did this help ?

There’s a world eater lord that’s able to resist the nails and plot schemes and make plans in the Angron book. Then on the other extreme there’s one whose nails are so active literally any thought but killing and violence is punished.

In codex WE there's a zerker who ponders his own nature and why he exists while fighting a titans crew. He kills it and comes to the conclusion he has no purpose and may be no different from the servitors he fought and kills himself to dedicate his skull to khorne It's a hell of a read

You can hear the wear in the Oculus’ voice. No “thing” can touch him now. He could stare into the Warp full on and be safe because he has nothing for them to take anymore. Nothing to corrupt. He has, if I may suppose, learned a Truth. That there is a Limit to things. The body and mind can only be pushed so far before it tires of the pushing. Too much feeling gives way to no feeling. About anything. The joy of discovery gives way to the monotony of Codification. The Oculus searches for Knowledge, true, but has reached a point to where he knows what is best left alone or unlearned. Or even what needs be put to the torch for the good of all. For the price of learning is high, truly. But the price to relearn that Knowledge can and will cost you everything if you are not careful. Take great care, Oculus. The Emperor Protects. But a Bolt Gun on your hip never hurt either.

Tho Khorne was likely born when the first caveman killed another out of rage instead of food, I like to think that his personality was born when that same caveman took a seat on the skull of his defeated enemy. (Or the skull of a mammoth. It’s larger, and those tusks can make for good armrests.)

Im currently working on some chaos khorne marked chosen. This was a treat to listen to as i painted. Love it and i cant wait till you get to the angron book in ark of omens. What happens in that book with khorne himself is incredible !!! Between this and listening to gojira - the art of dying ( live in villunes ) the absolute creative nails hammering away as i paint is amazing. Honestly you want to hear the music kharn the betrayer would enter to listen to gojira the art of dying the live version . Its khorne blessed raged shamanic perfection !

Excellently written video, very interesting to watch. Khorne is a classic part of Warhammer, but I wish there was a little more to him. He strikes me as a bit one dimensional at times, but he's still a great part of the lore.
