Do you know of Oxford Very Short Introduction series? You can search on their website for books in that series and filter by subject since they have 400+ titles. The nice thing is the books are about 140-180 pages long and give a broad overview of any particular topic. These books are good if you are interested in a topic but will never have the time to read a book that covers it at an inroductory level. They might also be useful to read first about a topic of interest before doing a deep dive (look at reviews). Even though they are short, they still provide valuable insight that requires thinking directly avaliable in one format (again look at reviews). I am reading Mathematics A Very Short Introduction by Timothy Gowers and its very good. It sort of covers the philosophy behind mathematics while also challenging you to think by exercises (not textbook way).

Really intriguing collection, added some to my future list. I am 24, and started reading nonfiction 3 years back, and it really stuck with me so far. Really great to find such enlightening channel.

Sometimes. Some leaders are smarter than others, so it will vary. Mao, nah. His writings are pretty garbage. Stalin is a bit better, but lenin is even better than Stalin, but both are nothing compared to Marx, imo.

@@biskit8050 I think Mao's book is garbage. Lol. Idk if Mao was dumb or not, writing is a skill that Mao definitely did not have.

Have you read Susan Sontag's ''On Phtography" ? Biography on her which was recently released probably won pulitzer prize. Her another book "Illness as metaphor", her diary are also good ones.

If you're interested in Ayn Rand, check out a really good bio of her, named- "Goddess of the Market: Ayn Rand and the American Right" by: Jennifer Burns. Really good summation of her life, ideas and fellow travelers in her circle. I think you will enjoy it! Thanks for all the recommendations...I now have a reading list a mile long... 🙂
