I just started The Wolf based mostly on your and Jessie May's love for it. So far so good! I wasn't expecting to enjoy the writing style so much but there's something about how Carew writes that really works for me.

The night runner series by Lynn Flewelling , first book luck in the shadows is super underrated!! I see hardly anyone talks about it which really surprises me because the world building and characters+the plot is so good definitely recommend!!

I picked up the Raven's Mark books and Dawn of Wonder. Black Wing was great. Looking forward to the rest of that series.

The Blackwing I'm reading must be a very different book, in it the protagonist hunts down people who often ecape to the misery and I'm about halfway into the book and I don't recall any mention of him being a guide.

My first book report in high school was on Ivanhoe. Loved the book even more than the old movie adaptation with Elizabeth Taylor. ❤

I really liked dawn of wonder, just really sad there don't seem to be any updates on sequels, when apparently renshaw was already quite far in development of books 2 and 3 like 2 years ago. Also, definitely want to read blackwing asap!

It is pretty good, there is a kind of post-apocalyptic land called the Misery with some very unsettling beasties in it. Also what civilization is left is an industrialised setting

You convinced me to read both Lud-in-the-Mist and Ivanhoe and I enjoyed both quite a bit. I think you just talked me in to Suneater and potentially Dawn of Wonder as well so thank you for those. Truly. Good books are pure joy. My nomination for most underrated fantasy series on BookTube is Rivers of London. This series is beloved IRW but invisible here. I don’t quite know why.

I liked the wolf trilogy but the fact that he kept teasing a certain thing then it didn't happen and I was disappointed. Shall I say how the cryptea came back into the story. Ravensmark is one of my favourite series ever

Again, watch the 1997 tv-series. Dare to imagine a more conflicted Brian de Bois-Guilbert for me. Ivanhoe needs zero Hollywood. Less is more. The fights are the least important. It's a romance novel for guys and a tragedy for girls. Ivanhoe kills option 2 and then fracks off. It needs HBO if anything. Way ahead of its times.

For me I wished more people talked about The Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton. Forget for one minute this trilogy has an incredible setting and layered complex characters and Arabian mythology, it’s the perfect example of how to write and end a trilogy in my opinion. Plus I’m a sucker for Amani and Jin story. I can’t believe people slept on it ❤
