I find that most people I speak with are concerned about their credit score, purchasing a vehicle, and whether they will be able to rent again. In this video, I will explain my experience with credit score, purchasing a new vehicle, and my renting experience after filing bankruptcy. This my bankruptcy experience video is someone on my team's experience that he wanted to share with others, so I utilize the first person, but it's their experience.

My wife still has good credit and has me as an authorized user on one of her cards, I also have a mortgage so that helps. Within a month of filing my scores went from high 400s to 650-699. 40k in debt gone. Get a lawyer and do it now!

I’ve been struggling with my debt for about 3 years. I haven’t missed a payment yet, and my credit report always points that out. But, that is about to change. I will be missing my first credit card Payment this week, and I am completely disgusted with myself. I’ve been considering chapter 7 for about a year now. After researching all my options, this seems like the best one. Guess it’s time I find an attorney

I’m trying to understand here, @ 3:55 you’re stated that the reason you and your spouse filed for bankruptcy is because you want to purchase a home. As that makes little sense to me, without any other info on the debt that lead to bankruptcy. I also don’t get how can you pay CCs on time AFTER bankruptcy, if there are no credit cards to pay for; since all the CCs debt was removed and the cards are closed. So having no cards to pay for, after bankruptcy, and staying away from applying for any, how can one improve the score? I had one credit card left that was in good standing, but it was closed with the others as part of bankruptcy. Leaving me with no credit cards to build credit with.

Did you reaffirm your 2021 car loan? What was the process like? Can you “ride through “ your car loan, meaning can you keep it as long as you keep making payments on time?

So if you get your credit back up to 700’s, is the bankruptcy still hurting you? Or do potential creditor’s just look at the score?

There's multiple factors that tie into it! The type of bankruptcy you filed, the amount of debt you have, and how recently you filed all play a factor with creditors. For example a Chapter 7 stays on your credit report for 10 years whereas Chapter 13 stays on for 7 years, so even through you may have improved your credit score before the 7-10 years are up, creditors will still be able to view your credit report, which doesn't mean you may be denied of a loan or credit, they may just provide you a conditional one or ask for a co-signer.

Some people I know got approved for credit cards from Capital One and Discover but not secured cards.

@@AscendFinance your probably right. My in-laws went bankrupt and after discharge my Mother in law got approved for a Capital One Card and bounced back. The key is recover and learn from your mistakes.
