Gilbert Gottfried had a genius memory and his Amazing Colossal Podcast is a treasure trove of oral histories of old Hollywood, and a huge gift and legacy. Also, he was a loving father and husband. A gentle man, a great brother, and a comic genius. A comic's comic.

Gilbert Gottfried is a legend. One of the funniest men alive. I never get tired of watching him.

Today is January 26, 2023 and Gilbert has been gone since last April. I don’t know why his death has impacted me so powerfully but it has. Perhaps it was the courage that he showed all of us during his career being unafraid. Whether he likes it or not, he was a role model for many of us. I will continue to watch the amazing colossal podcast in spite of the void that was created upon his passing. I think you for all the many years of entertainment that you provided us. And I will quote the great Kurt Vonnegut by saying to you my dearly departed friend, “go take a flying fuck at a rolling, donut ;-) :-)!. Peace.

The guy interviewing Gilbert here is a real gentleman. He helped Gilbert up the stairs. I respect him a lot for doing that.

Thank you thank you thank you for doing this piece so that those of us who were so taken by Gilbert's unique style and wild offbeat humor can see him in action talking about him, doing him and being the spectacular comedy legend he was! RIP Gilbert... so many of us miss you terribly.

I have seen like five interviews with Gilbert wearing that same shirt... 😂 That's why he is awesome 😂 not cheap but just does not care what people think.

Good lord what a stunted interviewer. He follows up with "that's great." He is horrible! He is not even familiar with the OUTSTANDING podcast that has over 3 years and over 300 interviews. It's excellent and the interview hasn't even listened! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, UNPREPARED INTERVIEWER OF A LEGEND.

Gilbert has shown that to be a great comic nothing is sacred, not even your career. Gilbert's 9/11 joke was clever and actually funny, but not being mean or disrespectful to the victims. It was a little cathartic.

Gottfried is one of the few comedians I respect because he has the courage to make fun of sensitive things when they are raw.. Look how many comedians were scared to death to make fun of Harvey Weinstein (not counting the Cowardly actresses who kept quiet for decades) and only when it was safe and not harmful to their careers, did the one-liners start.. Gilbert was a great comedian. A Hall of Famer in the Comedian's Hall of Fame. This is a guy who could make you cry laughing, not too many comedians can do that. Does Neil Berkley look like Ted Cruz? I'm sure he's a much better person, but who isn't besides Majorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, and Donald Trump.

He’s mixed up about Nixon and the moral majority. Nixon resigned the presidency in August 19 74. He more or less vanished for years. It was Rev. Jerry Falwell who began the moral majority. That was in the late 1970s. He recruited people by advertising in the Tv Guide. There were people who agreed with him. And there were many who agreed with some of it but didn’t join, like myself. It Just wasn’t for everyone. There are certain people who do get out raged and then there are others who are just very angry and judge mental all the time no matter what they’re talking about are dealing with. And I think that was the type of people that Falwell connecting with.
