Natalie thanks for taking us along on this lovely trip. As a former acne sufferer (face and neck) allow me to make some suggestions: a) Don't use towels on your face whether it be to dry or clean it. Use only disposable cotton pads and dry your face with a Kleenex. It is really important to do what you can to avoid reinfection. b) Find a good dermatologist and make a visit (mine put me on antibiotics and gave me two different topical creams). A lot of acne sufferers go to beauticians etc before going to hospital. c) Keep your hair away from your face. The oils and chemicals we use on our hair can be really harsh on sensitive skin. d) Sleep on a silk pillowcase if you aren't doing so already (I buy mine on Amazon). e) Reduce the amount of added sugars in your food ( I reduced but did not eliminate...I had to be realistic with myself). I still enjoy wholewheat bread with peanut butter and marmalade but my tea will have no sugar. If I eat cake, I'll avoid the icing, I only consume plain youghurt with no added colours or sugars. If I want to experience sweetness, I eat it with fruits and add a bit of maple syrup or agave. f) Since you use make up, be assiduous about cleaning and sanitising your brushes. When using foundation, try not to dip the brush into the foundation twice once it's been on your face especially when you have an active acne flare up. I know it's hard but see what you can do. I know we are all different so what worked for me may not work for another but I thought I would share anyway especially when I saw you use the towel on your face. Today, my skin is completely clear and I have a very simple facial routine. I don't wear make up (besides lip gloss) so that may have helped during treatment but I am really keen on my simple facial routine.
