Hello friends,
Long time no see! I've been slowly getting around to editing my travel vlogs so thank you for being patient with me. This particular video holds a special place in my heart as it was filmed during a challenging period of my life. If you caught the video before this one, you know that life threw a series of events at me within a week, making it emotionally taxing to navigate.
Opening up and being transparent online is not easy for me (but I am learning how to be better with every video!). In front of the camera, I strive to maintain a happy facade, but a lot of the time I am dealing with personal struggles that I shy away from sharing. The year 2023 brought its share of joy, but it also brought stress, anxiety, and many moments of sadness. Yet I firmly believe in the balance of the universe, and I am confident that overcoming the challenges of last year will pave the way for newfound happiness and growth in 2024.
I am genuinely excited for what this upcoming year holds, and I look forward to sharing more of my journey with you in the upcoming videos. Your support means the world to me, and I hope to bring you even better content in the new year ♥️

I'm sorry for your loss, Julia. When you said that you felt grateful to have visited him when he was still able to talk, to eat, to walk, I really resonated with that. I lost my grandpa three years ago during covid and was unable to visit him due to the travel restrictions, but I was able to visit him 3-4 months before he passed. He was well and able to walk and talk, so I was reminded of being grateful that God gave me the opportunity to see him before he passed away. I hope you'll continue to heal and make more and more memories with your loved ones who are still here.

this was so hard to watch. its so hard to lose someone. Im so sorry for your loss. It's always good to have good memories with someone who passes. I lost my grandpa in 2019, and im grateful that i was in the same country with him and did have good memories, but grief is always tough and never linear.

Hi Julia! I just found your channel a couple days ago, and your GZ series really resonates with me. I am also from GZ, and moved to the states when I was 9. I lost my grandpa a few years back and really regret not spending enough time with him. I'm so sorry for your loss! Oh, Julia 💜 this part of growing up is the hardest, seeing our loved ones grow old and pass. Props to you for continuing this documentation, and you sharing about seeing your 爷爷 in your previous vlogs is a stark reminder for me to do that as well. In 2018, I lost my grandma, and I experienced an overwhelming range of emotions that I was unable to handle. My final year of high school was undoubtedly the most difficult period of my life, in my opinion. I appreciate you sharing this difficult period with us continue to be strong and optimistic. I'm so sorry for your loss I know I lost all my grandparents it has been hard💔. Appreciate every moment with your grandmother I always tell my friends that still have a living grandparent/s to appreciate them you are so blessed to still have a grandmother. I'm so sorry for your loss, Julia. I lost my grandads in 2012 and 2015 and this brought everything back. All we can do is be thankful for the memories we have, know that they were proud of us, and live life how they would want us to live - happy. All love.

I’m so sorry for your loss Julia, and appreciate that you chose to share your journey with us. My grandpa from my dads side passed in 2021 and I couldn’t go back to China due to covid. I felt so bad for not being able to be there for my dad, so I think it means a lot that you’re staying longer to spend time with your grandma and your dad. 🤍

Julia, i'm so sorry for your lost! i kinda have the same experience like you, my grandma passed away two years ago, she died just 3 days before we flew back. i felt so guilty for not talking to her when she was there. Just today is my grandpa's 91st birthday and this year will be his 22nd death anniversary so I know losing a loved one is one of the hardest time of anyone's life. So take the time you need to process it and whenever you're ready to keep doing your things you know it will be the appropiate moment to move on. Hi Julia, I lost my mom at age 30 from a massive stroke. We were all around her hospital bed when she went. That experience sent my life on a different path than the one I was on. No regrets whatsoever. Sometimes it takes the passing of a loved one to make us think of life from a different perspective, sorting out true priorities from passing shallow desires.

I'm sorry for your loss Julia. Be strong! I also flied back to China in August 2023 to visit family and my grandpa passed away in hospital one week before my arrival.... And no one told me until I arrived home. Due to covid I haven't been home for years and the last time I saw him he is still healthy.. I wish I had more time with him.

I’m so sorry, when we lost my father in law I couldn’t be there bc of Covid, and it took some time to come to terms with that. I am so glad you got to spend time with him last year, and that you have some of those memories recorded.

I also experienced the loss of my grandparents last year, I feel like they are the closest people in my life, they’re even closer to me than my parents, when I was younger, they were the one who raised me, and always there for me, and I was supposed to visit them for their birthday as well but instead, I had to attend their funeral
