I have since watched Her Two Wheels video and I disagree with none of it, a very good video. Really not sure where people got that she said it was the the future though, my read is she said similar to what I did, it's PART of the future, and that is absolutely fine. More options for more people is a good thing!
Her Video: • RIP Manual Transmissio...
My old video riding a DCT: • 2021 Honda Africa Twin...
If you enjoyed the video please hit the like button, it pleases the gods of KZfaq and then let my videos do well :D Also if you're new here please consider hitting that subscribe button for more bike related content :)

A lot of thinkings!!! Sidecars, DCT - not for me but clearly have their place (like wot you said, innit 😅). Happiness - for me, it's living somewhere that's not overcrowded and has some good roads, riding and tinkering with my bike and riding horses with my good lady. Walking woods and beaches with a dog (just got a puppy, so training and mayhem are order of the day 😂😂). I got there in the end and I think I'm very lucky!!!! Cheers, Andy.

Haha sometimes I can make a point decently and convey what I mean, it's rare but it happens :P All of that sounds perfect except I'll watch herself ride the horses 😂 Good choice of a happiness definition! You are and I'm glad it's worked out for you :)

I love Klim. I chose the non-pro induction. Less mesh than Pro (gives structured feel fore arms). Fits like a custom tailored garment. I can put an axial wind block layer under to adjust to changing temps through day. Have a rain liner from another jacket I can wear outside. I Use another jacket when average temps below 60. found like new used on FB marketplace or Craigslist for $200.00. Found Dakar pants ( but the legs are too baggy (fit off road/knee braces) IMO.

I love Klim stuff, I might just pull the trigger one the pro or not pro, thanks for the feedback tho nice to know it's worth the price. Yeah my current jacket is grand for anything below 70 even just not the summer temps here its not fun 😂 I have rain overalls for rain that are grand, haven't had full textiles since my RST suit.....still kind of nervous to commit to stuff for some reason even tho I'm likely in the US for the long haul now 😂 Thanks for the feedback!

Great video bud. I couldn’t agree with you more on the DCT’s. One of these days you should ride a road king. Not that the Valkyrie isn’t a bad ass, the ergonomics of the Harley’s are better thought out in my opinion.

Love the idea of a sidecar. Don't waste a nice a nice cb 1300 or such likes , ideal for old gl 1000 or royal Enfield or similar. A Sunday evening jaunt only. I currently have two furigan textile jackets. The titanium with the winter lining for summer and the Appalachia for winter. The titanium feels nicer , better quality. Rode in --2 with only a t shirt underneath and totally waterproof so far.... Oh yes ... Buy a size up on what you think you are with them. Even better if the shop stocks them, try them on. Good length in the sleeves and shoulders. Negatives... Velcro cuffs , no zips or brass poppers .happy hunting

I think they look really good on old Vulcans and the like too, just not something I personally have any interest in owning! I'd love to try one tho 😂 Ah nice I'll have a look at them thanks! Currently riding the blue ridge parkway and this jacket is cooking me 😂 Very good shout on the size up too, massively appreciated

I've seen those! I've never seen one in a size that fits when I try it on but it would be the business for the really hot weather, protection is also not sweating all your liquids out too 😂

Manual cars and bikes for me thanks (while I can) but difficult to even buy a manual car these days (they just don’t make them or import them into Australia). I would like to see you on a touring Harley StreetGlide or RoadGlide let’s not discriminate lol 😎🤙🏻

I also like that I can fix manual cars and bikes :) Yeah that's the same over here, really sad to see it tbh and all the most affordable cars tend to be manual, also the most easily maintained! I could actually probably rent one of those!!! :)

Not throwing shade, but Her Two Wheels never struck me as a good source for nuanced reviews. An odd choice for people to reference as a sort of authority. Just my opinion, and no ill-will towards her. I completely agree with you, though. My primary bike will likely always be an old fashioned manual transmission, so long as I’m able to operate one. Downshifting is one of life’s simple pleasures.

I honestly don't watch enough of her videos to comment, I know she gets press bikes and whatnot so is doing something right, and good on her! It's very odd the people who have hounded me for literally years over saying I personally don't want to buy a DCT.....like I said it's good tech but not for me and for literally years it's bothered some people. Very very odd. Absolutely 100% agreed. Nothing like sending it down the gears coming in to a corner.

Bikes are class 😀 Can't help on a jacket, I have the opposite issue, my belly is bigger than my shoulders so jackets that fit my shoulders and arms, don't fit my belly... hense me needing to get a made to measure leather suit. Could you get a mesh armoured shirt like the Knox Urbane Pro 2 or 3 and then throw over a non bike kit waterproof jacket? I rode a DCT bike many moons ago... not a modern Africa Twin mind, but I hated it. I don't even like paddle gearchange in cars, had that on my old Toyota GT86, and agree, sooo much lag. I used to enjoy Ponksters vids, shame he stopped doing the motovlogs. I love the quickshifter on my Suzuki, but still use the clutch quite a lot on it both up and down the box... Long Live The Clutch Lever! You really need to review the Yamaha XSR900 GP.... but I don't think the USA is getting it, which is utterly mental as it is celebrating USA racers

I agree :P Can't wait to see this fancy custom suit tbh, I'll probably need to go do the same things for my issues. Who wants to be all normal sized anyway eh :) I have considered that, might work best tbh! Yeah I'm the same, like if I've ever driven a paddle shift car I just leave it do it automatically, it's just not the same :D Yeah it is. Last I saw he was doing well though making camping videos. Agreed, QS's are great, but I still want and need to have the option :D Man......that is one of the few new new bikes that I would buy in a heart beat, AND THEN IT'S NOT COMING HERE!!! I agree, makes no bloody sense.

@@TheGorillaBiker me too, had a test fitting of the bare bones suit the other day, they had got some of the colours wrong, but not an issue as they completely disassemble it after that fitting so that they can then do the proper double/triple stitching and add liner and armour etc. It was a lot more money than I wanted to spend, but at least it'll allow me to do some more trackdays and it'll be comfortable and fit properly. The Urbane Pro with an MX jersey is my current go to summer rig on the bikes, the MX jersey looks better, and also allows me to wash it once it is covered in bugs. I'd quite happily just throw a waterproof skinny jacket over the top instead if I was out in the rain in the summer. I took the liner out of my textiles today, so Sod's law that it turned out to be a bit nippy out instead of warm like it has been.

I love watching sidecar racing . . .. When I was racing however sidecars always seemed to cause innumerable stoppages due to dumping oil on the track. Not something I would want to own. Cars dominate our world. The people who govern us and make the rules travel by car they view the world from the cars they are driven about in. That won't change any time soon. Here there are very few pavements because very few people walk in the blistering heat. You still haven't made it onto a Buell Cyclone I think? Has to be that as the other Buells wouldn't fit so well. Personally, A Freddie Spencer fully kitted CB750, an RC30, an OW01, dreams.... DCT is just something to add to the list with heated seats, SatNav, USB connectivity, digital displays, rider modes, anti this and anti that, all the things that suggest what you really want is a car but are afraid to admit it, things that for me militate against the reasons for riding a motorbike. Another excellent ramble. Thank you. 👍

Same, especially at the TT! But that is veeeery different from riding them on the roads as well, and same, can't see when I'd ever want to own one! Very true. Sadly more and more law and rule makers are also becoming more and more disconnected from normal people too. That's understandable. I have not sadly. If I get the chance to tho I certainly will! Yeah it's an odd thing. I know plenty of people who love cruise control and what not and to a degree I understand that one. I know a few who like DCT, and again, I completely understand that if you do. What I don't understand is people who have been insanely against me having an opinion about DCT and not wanting to buy one!

Another enjoyable vid. Though as the proud owner of a new NT1100 DCT we shall have to agree to disagree, but that's what grown ups do. We can hold different opinions and still have the craic. Is it stupid money to ship uour gixxer over? Can you bring that model into the US?
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker 2 ай бұрын
Thanks amigo. But we don't have to even do that, I have literally zero issues with anyone who likes DCT, the level of hate Ive got over the years for saying I currently wouldn't buy one is bonkers tho! Also, congrats, they ride bloody great 😂 The AT with sport mode was really weird but also very fun. Imagine that, agreeing we have different opinions and moving on 😂 Yeah sadly it is, you can, and it's 25 years old so no silly emissions things. If I ever got a green card I'd ship it and the magna over

Life is certainly designed for cars, in my job I asked if there are any rooms so I can change from my biker gear into my work clothes they said the toilets....no where to secure my helmet either. Would that qualify as a legal case?

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, it's very frustrating as it is literally treated as a completely other form of transport even though it's better for congestion, fuel a lot of the time, parking spaces etc. Give a locker it's not that bloody hard. A legal case?

If you live in mountains, or travel through them frequently, sidecars ARE dangerous. Downhill braking in a turn opposite to the sidecar is a physics pop-quiz that can get real ugly. Added to the fact that coming through all those blind hills and/or blind turns you are effectively full car width with no ability to get skinny. And no steel armour cage...
