Chloe being alive is determinant by the player and in life is strange 2 it straight up asks if you saved Arcadia Bay or Chloe. Neither are the right answer but at the same time they both are

It makes sense for Chloe not to be a huge part of this game. The previous sequels have always made your past choices count (David in LiS2 and Steph in LiS3 DLC both had content for if Chloe died or if the tornado destroyed the town). I'd reckon this game could easily have it so there are two versions for if Chloe is alive or dead. In the former she just didn't happen to join Max on this trip (maybe a bonus phone call with her or something so she doesn't have direct influence on the plot), in the latter it's pretty much the same (maybe some bonus references to the tornado). Or it could be far more directly linked and literally be that these two split universes Max travels between are directly caused by the choice at the end of LiS1, with Chloe being alive in one or not in the other. Or it could be a completely fresh game which needs no prior knowledge of the series to enjoy and they just really wanted to do more with that particular character or their powers or just work with their voice actress again or something. Either way I'll probably still enjoy it. Life is Strange is always a fun hybrid of cosy, cheesy, moody, and unsettling which balance them out into a really unique vibe. Not for everyone but they certainly land with me.

Given how they handled Chloe in LiS2 and True Colors, I think it'll be fine. People are just always worried especially after what happened to Clementine from TWD in the comics contiuning her story. (If you didn't play the TWD games, spoiler alert, heavy one, seriously...) Clementine, the player character, spends the entirety of the last game looking after a kid called AJ and finally settling down in a place where they can live happily. That's the whole point of the story. Then later, a comic continuation of the story came, where the writer made it so Clem leaves AJ behind because... she's not happy? Effectively character assassination.

The trailer doesn't say Sophie is her best friend. Only that she's her friend. As for Chloe, I imagine you'll get to choose which LiS1 ending you chose and then either let her be dead or write her out of the story (maybe a trip with David some place).

Playing the life is strange game series made me feel human again how weird that may sound but i always feel so much emotions playing these types of games. Really looking forward for this one. And how cool that max is back

I knew about a new game but nobody said it was the homegirl, Max. The moment I heard her voice, I got hella chills and goosebumps. I remember watching DashieGames play the first one back in the day and it was so good. I also recently played through it and just finished Before The Storm. So many nostalgia vibes right now. I am so ready for this!!

returning to root is the best thing for the franchise as a whole i hope it can gain some steam once more as the series was great overall and sometimes even masterpiece .
